    This + 1.

Nolan stated in an interview the other day that TDKR was the LAST Batman movie he's doing. This makes me really happy, and sad at the same time.

Heading out to see Prometheus and Madagascar 3 in a few..

Don't care how mediocre reviews have been across the web, I need to see another movie already! It's been a freaking month now, lmao.

Bbl with an edit..and yes, I don't think I could possibly be more hyped for TDKR. Next two movies coming up that I'm interested in: AL: Vampire Hunter (big maybe, lol) and Brave. The Amazing Spider-Man comes out a little after those.

This!! I can't freaking wait for TDKR. As for AL:VH, I probably wouldn't be interested in it, but Tim Burton's involved... So I'm really interested to see how it turns out!

In other news, I saw The Last Samurai today, I'd been wanting to see that one! Great movie!

He also stated this like 2 years ago he always was doing a trilogy and that's it. He only works on stuff he wants to. And don't be sad now he can go back to his own awesome films. Probably 2014/15 til we see him again but I can't wait.

Only had time to see Prometheus in IMAX 3D today. Madagascar 3 beat it by over $10 million this opening weekend. That's all I have to say.

That, and this summer seriously needs to pick up with its films. The Avengers set expectations way too high.

Edit: Really though, what a show of mediocrity. Not a movie you'd want to see unless you're paying matinee for the normal version of the film.

This is what I was referring to. Nolan said here that he was done with the series. I'm sad because: Nolan's Batman movies have kicked ass, and I wish he would direct more. I'm happy because: Most of the time when people add to trilogies they mess them up (Star Wars, I'm looking at you).

It's really weird thinking back 8 or so years and seeing the first trailer for Batman Begins, and now it's basically over. :( Crazy how fast time flies. Blink and you'll miss so much of life.

I have a theater near me that plays movies for $5, no matter the time. :p

I saw Prometheus today, and I actually found it to be pretty enjoyable. To be honest, I liked it more than the Avengers. I've seen a lot of people complaining about 'plot holes', but most of them are either non-existant (people just not paying attention), easily explainable, or just plain nitpicky.

A common misconception is that Prometheus is a prequel to Alien- it isn't. It just happens to take place in the same universe before the events of the original movie, but it doesn't really have any direct ties to it. A lot of people thought that it took place on the same moon as Alien, but it's actually a completely different place- it says so in the movie, though not blatantly. A lot of the 'plot holes' stem from this mistake.

Something that may make quite a few of the actual plot holes relating to the other movies invalid is that Prometheus is rumored to be a part of a new series of Alien reboots- meaning that the other movies are in a different continuity if true.

The main issue I did have with the movie is that they tried to put too much stuff into it. There was a lot going on all at once, and it was hard to follow at times. There were also several retcons (which were inevitable considering the original was made almost 30 years ago).

The main thing I'm confused about is why does David infect Holloway, leading to the impregnation of Shaw? Was he just curious, and he chose Holloway because he was an ass to David? Or was something else going on?

Also, the main focus of the movie wasn't the alien creatures like in the other movies. The main focus was the engineers AKA space jockeys. The aliens were just something on the side to explain what the space jockeys were doing.

Overall though, I really enjoyed it. It was the best movie in the Alien series I've seen aside from the original (Newt ruined Aliens for me, and there was a lot done poorly in that movie).

Yeah, I think it's latter reason. Nothing else was confusing about storyline. Just didn't find it to be too amazing of a movie.

I figured it out after I wrote it. Not explained very well in the movie, but Weyland was giving him orders to find a way he could live forever (he was the guy on the other end who told David to "try harder" halfway through the movie).

David, trying to find a way to grant Weyland immortality starting experimenting with the black goo, and he 'got' Holloway's 'approval' when he asked him how far he was willing to go for answers.

I think he chose Holloway, because Holloway was very vulnerable at the time, and they didn't really like each other (despite David's proclaimed 'lack of feelings', he demonstrates them several times- though they are very subtle and not nearly as overt as human feelings).

Holloway's death wasn't the desired outcome, but David knew that there was definitely a risk of something bad happening- hence him asking how far he'd be willing to go.

I agree the movie wasn't phenomenal- but compared to recent ventures into the sci-fi genre it was good. I'd put it above Avatar (in the visuals department too)- but that's not really much of an achievement. It's good though. Wish there was more suspense and drama in it than action, especially with the underlying message.

Sounds good to me. My favorite part was probably the late night conversation between the captain and Ms. Vickers. Pretty much the only bit of comedy in the film. Part I disliked the most? It's probably universal among watchers: that scene in the emergency medical unit towards the middle. I got pretty queasy. Very, very queasy. Nastiest stuff I've seen in quite a while.

I hate octopus. Seeing one come out of a fetus..an alien one too. Omg, fml, etc.

I watched aliens almost a decade ago so I barely remember anything about it. Plot holes isn't the issue with Prometheus. More like the lack of any plot instead. If you've watched the 3 minute trailer, you've pretty much seen everything there is to be seen in this movie. You can easily sum up the rest of the film in 2 sentences. Now, Even that wouldn't be a problem if the movie was good at the horror aspect. Dont think there was a single person who jumped in their seat even once. Atleast a dozen people left the movie midway. I was tempted too but kept on hoping it'll change for the better soon. Wish I hadn't...

The one main plot hole for me was that the engineers pointed towards this planet as their home. Don't get why they'd do that. This planet/moon obviously was never their home. More like a far away base camp instead. Did I miss something here?
All in all, it was slow and boring and simply not worth the time for me. I don't even know what you're talking about when you say there was too much going on in the movie. My problem was there was nothing really going on.
The only part I was interested in was the engineers. Why did they create us and why were they planning to destroy us now. An answer to that is what I was expecting from the movie. Unfortunately all I got was everyone asking the same questions throughout the movie until the very end. I guess there'd be a sequel. Wish I had watched the trailer for Prometheus and gone on to see the sequel straightaway. Would've saved me the headache. That said, I'd definitely watch the sequel if they make one. But this time I'd first wait for impressions before wasting my time

And btw, avatar was a bore too IMO. I liked it overall but they really needed to edit out atleast 40-60 minutes from it. Would've been 10 times as good a movie if they did that.

Saw Prometheus earlier tonight, and just had to post something. Purposely haven't read preceding posts on the topic.

It was...almost criminal. I think it actually made me feel sad. Yes, I am a big fan of the first movie, but came to this one with no expectations except one: I fully expected it to be good. Not great. Good. Heck, I would have settled for decent.

Thing that gets me is, they had me for the first hour and a half. I liked that it was meandering and slow. It reminded me of the original. If only it was going somewhere...

Unfortunately, they begin with Alien and end with Armageddon. Worse though, because Armageddon I could safely turn off after 20 minutes.

Over two hours, with no action to suck up the time mind you, and they couldn't come up with a remotely original or interesting plot? Couldn't develop a single character beyond a cardboard cutout? Not a single one! All those great actors wasted. And then the ending ticks every cliche in the book down to projecting a sequel. No thanks Mr. Scott.

Thanks for the thoughts on Prometheus. I was at first very excited to want to see this but after watching the trailer I strongly suspected that was the whole movie in a nut shell. Thanks for the confirmation, will catch it when/if it hits tv, maybe.

Im not quite sure why you replied to me. I dont want to be mean or anything but you just said the same thing again. I wasnt doubting you or misunderstanding you. I was simply pointint out that Nolan makes brilliant films and itll be good when he gets back to his own stuff.

I replied because I was showing EVERYONE what was going on. I knew you understood what I said. Haha, I was basically reiterating what I said stated, but with a more indepth approach.

And yes Nolan is a genius, and I can't wait to see what's up his sleeve.

So wait a minute... They're gonna continue this Batman series, but without Christopher Nolan??
