I'm really excited by the new trailers for The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man!! I personally didn't really like Tobey Maguire's portrayal of Peter Parker, hoping Andrew Garfield's will be more to my liking. So how about that movie Woman in Black? Any good?
The Vow is the first romance I've seen in quite a long time. Not really a popular genre anymore. It definitely falls short of stuff like The Notebook and A Walk to Remember. Can't say staying awake was easy. My girlfriend was pretty much bawling though during the whole movie..girls. Chronicle was extremely fast-paced. The whole film including all the trailers was 90 minutes, so there wasn't really any room for a break. Pretty talented young actors in the film. Felt incredibly fresh from the usual superhero/superpower film. Either way, it conveys the main message of the film effectively. I'd say it deserves the top box office spot that it has right now. In any case, saw plenty of cool trailers of upcoming summer films. Prometheus looks freaking amazing.
Last movie I've seen is "Chronicle" it got 7.6/10 rating in IMDB I have to say it's a good one, a good twist to super powered human being. Must watch! Anyone got to see "Haywire", is it any good?
Wow, insane weekend for the Box Office. 40+ mil for both The Vow and Safe House, and 20+ mil for Journey 2 and Star Wars: Eps I 3D. This beats out the usual opening weekends during even summertime.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and The Secret World of Arietty are coming out this Friday. Want to see both of them, damn. Not sure when I'll get the chance to go to the theaters again though..
The best movie I have seen till now is A walk to remember it is not only a love story but a different story which made a super hit in the box office.
Just watched "Take Shelter." Quality flick. Focusses on a guy in the early stages of schizophrenia having apocalyptic dreams and hallucinations, and the dynamic between him and his wife as he tries to keep a grip on reality. Very ominous and unsettling mood throughout the film. Great work by the director taking a subtle and quiet tone and building into a powerful crescendo. And the acting by the two leads is absolutely top-notch. Good stuff all around.
Recently I was looling out for a new comedy so is looked at imdb.com > comedys and than top rated. "Midnight in Paris" showed up - 7.8 or so - with Owen Wilson and so I bought it (!) on itunes because a rental wasn't available... big mistake! Next time I double check this stuff to find a good one. This one wasn't absolutly nothing for me...
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/guides/best_animated_movies_2012/ One of the coolest movie lists I've seen. It's RT's top 75 animated movies of all time. But yeah, really good list. Might go to the theaters again this Friday to see two of the following: Safe House, Act of Valor, Gone, and The Secret World of Arietty. Going to check out ratings/reviews for AoV and Gone before deciding. Wanted to see Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, but it got totally trashed by every review site there is.
Good list but not great. I mean the simpsons movie is rated above the Lion King, Aladdin, Howls Moving Castle, The secret of Kells. Also Antz is even higher. PLus Im dissappointed at no Despicable Me. And Grave of the Fireflies should be top 20 at least. Not surprised by the top 4 though.
Yeah, I just meant the general content of the list. Rankings are always too subjective. They ranked them almost completely based off of their scores in any case. I'm surprised DM didn't make it too. Man, I want to see Spirited Away again now.
I watched The Way again a couple of nights ago. One of my all-time favourite movies. Everything's perfect, the character development, the setting, the story etc. It stars Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez and is directed by Estevez too.
The muppets is finally out here and I got to see it last night. It was so good. I can't actually find a fault with it. It was so much fun, funny and the songs were great. Also l loved the cameos.
Yeah, The Muppets was excellent. Great film for the holidays. Just came back from seeing Act of Valor and The Secret World of Arietty. Act of Valor has to be the most forgettable war film I've seen to date. Complete lack of emotions and a boring plot. At least the action was good. Really enjoyed Arietty though. First anime movie I've seen in so long. Amazing art and sound. I want to see Spirited Away again now, lol. Seeing the Lorax and John Carter next time I go to the theaters in two weeks.
