Movie looks pretty good, I've never heard of it before and it comes out so soon.

The cast looks disappointing though. I saw two good actors and one of them dies early in the movie. I'd be 1000 times more inclined to see this if Matt Bomer and Justin Timberlake would switch characters. And Cillian Murphy is playing some standard villain, he's too good of an actor to not have something special about his characters. The rest of the cast is a joke, with Alex Pettyfer and Amanda Seyfried as big stars. Ugh, now I don't really wanna see this anymore.

Timberlake was decent in Southland Tales - even if I am only one of 12 people who liked that movie... :p

Seriously, that movie looks like it will be decent enough to sit all the way through. Might not bridge the gap to intellectual Sci-Fi (Naked Lunch, Southland Tales, The Fly, A Scanner Darkly, Blade Runner, etc.) - but from the trailer it looks to be at least a decent action Sci-Fi movie.

I recently watched Super 8 - and found it not terrible but not particularly good either. It felt like Indy4 - it had all the right camera shots and it felt like it could have been an epic Speilberg project from the late 70s early 80s - but it just fell flat. Relying on stale jokes, and long sappy periods to tell the story while keeping the movie from straying outside of a PG rating. The train crash was spectacular but the way everybody survived I couldn't help but wonder if John Cusack was going to come racing through in a Limo at some point.

Two nights ago I watched Troll Hunter (an independent Norwegian film) - it was fantastic. It had the right amount of absurd humour and on the spot social & political musings to help bring together the fantastical idea without making it feel like a self-serious genre piece. Definitely a movie I may watch again in the future.

Ya mostly this :) I'm a sucker for girls with an Irish connection. It makes anyone awesome.

But I actually think it looks really good. I don't mind Justin Timberlake so that helps and I enjoy TBBT so I like johnny galecki. I think I will enjoy this movie. Premise is cool too. The introduction of his mother wife and daughter was funny.

That's exactly what I was thinking, too. I got really excited when I saw Mr. Bomer, but then he went ahead and died.

I guess it's a little too hard for TV stars to immediately rise to the top of the film game. Especially when Timberlake's name is still huge.

Anyone else see Captain America this weekend? Just got back from seeing it in 3D along with Friends with Benefits. Found Captain America to be much more enjoyable than Thor and Green Lantern. Did anyone stay after the trailer to watch the teaser clip if there was one? Didn't know much about his background, but the story turned out to be interesting enough. The movie had a nice retro touch to it. Pretty excited for when The Avengers movies movie to come out. Also, the new Spider-Man trailer for next summer looks nice. The first-person scenes were pretty cool. Friends with Benefits turned out to be a lot better than expected. Timberlake had pretty darn good chemistry with Mila. I think Horrible Bosses was probably more funny though. Meh, not too many movies left to watch this summer now.

Anyone seen Ip Man? He kicks people's asses while they're falling down after he's kicked their asses.

WHY? WHY WOULD YOU NOT STAY AFTER THE CREDITS? All of the Marvel movies that tie into the avengers have scenes after the credits and this time it also had THE AVENGERS TRAILER!

Saw it on the Netflix catalog the other day. I'll check it next time we feel like watching a movie.
Oh my goodness, fml. I forget every single time. I've seen every Marvel film in theaters in recent years and have never remembered even once, starting with the first Spider-Man in 2002 :[..

Seriously, why don't you just stay for the credits for every film? You've only spent two hours of your life watching the film; why not spend six minutes more listening to (hopefully) good music and respecting the people who made the movie?

I don't know where you go to the movies, but here in Houston, TX, the house lights are turned on and the cleaning crew moves in a minute after the movie cuts off. The population of the theater room goes from a few hundred people in the audience to two workers within two minutes after the credits roll in. I guess if you really wanted to stay and watch the entire credits, they'd let you, but I can't say I've seen that happen before. I go to the movies nearly every week too. I think I paid enough respect to the contributors of the movie by just buying a ticket in any case. And yeah, tickets are $10.50 for an adult, and this is the most popular theater in the area that I'm talking about. Lol, why so serious?

On the one hand depending on how large the theater is they may only have 5 minutes or so before the next showing gets out and since 8 out of 10 people treat the ushers like their personal trashcans it's sort of understandable. On the other hand they aren't supposed to be cleaning during the credits unless everyone has already left. At the very least you should ask them if there's anything after the credits and if there is ask them to turn the cleaning lights off during the extra scene.

In my experience, the music is rarely good, I know the main actors and I'm never going to remember all of those other names anyway ;)

Hmm, I guess I'm strange in the case that I can enjoy pretty much any soundtrack. Rarely do I actually buy them, of course, but I usually enjoy what's playing.

backtothis, a moment ago, you were cursing yourself for not having stayed. I was merely making a suggestion. Six more minutes of your time at any movie and you wouldn't have to curse yourself for missing anything. Because you didn't.

But hey, I've known for a while now that any suggestion I make is completely useless and usually taken as folly, so do whatever you want.

And I guess I feel that I haven't contributed enough, since tickets are only eight bucks here. ;)

My rule is you haven't watched the entire movie if you didn't see the full credits.

I'm a film student and yet I've never seen anything quite as pretentious as this credits nonsense. Just go online and you'll be able to find the Avengers trailer.
