Know what? Some I deduced from the trailer, the other is from my film degree. If that is what you mean?
The Avengers teaser was awesome! The Spiderman trailer didn't excite me at all--- definitely looks like Mirror's Edge...--- Captain America was decent to watch. It seemed all over the place at times but managed finish with a bang. Now all I need is The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers next year. Prediction for weekend: Captain America $61 million Harry Potter $54 million
All I've seen is good things about the new Cap. America movie. Just a shame us here in the UK have another week until it's released.
Captain America and Friends with Benefits today, heheh. I'm a lot more excited for Cowboys and Aliens along with Crazy, Stupid, Love next week though. Bleh, Summer 2011 is closing out :[. I think Rise of the Planet of Lost Apes may be the last film I'll see.

So you know the full story of amazing spiderman?? That's cool. Few questions though. 1) where was lizard in spiderman 1 2) where was gwen Stacey in spiderman 1 3) where was the story of peters parents in spiderman 1 4) where were the web shooters in spiderman
The effects should be better, its has 6 or 7 years better technology. It has something new. New direction, actors, director, writers, story, bad guy. I hate the first three spidey films, they were way to cheesy and campy for my taste. Go get em tiger, killed it. I liked 500 Days of Summer, so I trust Marc Webb in bringing a good movie. Lizard wasn't in Spidey 1 because they had a bad guy, and because Doc Ock, Goblin, Sandman and Venom are more recognizable baddies. I'm just glad they picked a new bad guy. Smart choice. I haven't seen 1 or 2 for awhile, but I know Stacey was in 3. According to comic books, and Spidey 1, his parents died in a car crash, they didn't abandon him Your right, Raimi decided to just go with natural web shooters instead of mechanical. I prefer the latter, but its just personal preference I'm only gonna see Harry Potter, Captain America, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and Cowboys and Aliens this summer
According to the official Marvel wiki Peter Parker's parents were government spies that died in a plane crash, that seems to fall in line with the new movie. I'm not sure going "less campy" is the right direction for Spider-Man though, he's a goofy character that's quick with the quips. A dark Spider-Man would be like making a movie where Deadpool can't speak and that would just be silly. Superhero movies are all about people in ridiculous costumes fighting other people in ridiculous costumes, you can't take that too seriously. Serious just barely works with Batman and that's Batman!
Just saw Captain America and it was pretty damn good. Stay after the credits for the surprise!!! Zomg!
Certainly didn't look better in the trailer. And since the trailer is supposed to build excitement for the film and sell it to you, showcasing what I'm hoping is unfinished effects, is a really bad move. Just look how GL turned out after those trailers showcased unfinished effects. We may have a new team, but the cast lacks the talent of the original 3 and they no longer have the brilliant Raimi at the wheel. I mean Marc Webb, really? Given the films he's made in the past, it seems bizarre they chose him for this project. Especially since Sony has so much riding on this. And Spiderman is supposed to be camp and cheesy, don't you read the comics? And if you don't already, go correct that.
Normally I'm not a fan of people being negative about everything, but you talk a lot of sense and its actually stuff I'm concerned about. Personally I was a fan of the trailer but it definitely had some unfinished effects. The movie is a year out though, so I've got hope that they can fix that and have some top of the line effects for a very effects-driven movie. Also I read that they showed footage of a very unconvincing CGI Lizard at comic-con. Hopefully they fix that. I saw Captain America on Thursday at Comic-Con. It was good, not great. I haven't seen Green Lantern of Thor, but most people say it was better than those two and worse than X-men: First Class. I did see that movie and I agree that it is better than Cap. Compared to superhero movies that I've seen, I'd say its leagues better than X:Men Wolverine, a little better than Ghost Rider, and about as good as Iron Man 2. It's still behind Iron Man 1 and anything on the level of Batman Begins or TDK. I liked a lot of things about it, and didn't like a few things. Acting was good, the little bit of CG was good. The story was okay, many of the characters were a little bit undeveloped, even Cap himself. I feel like they didn't cover the transformation enough and showed too much of his development in action-montages. He went into a machine a tiny man with little ability and came out a taller, stronger, faster superhuman. Thats all fine and dandy, but they didn't show him adjust to his new body at all, or learn any of the actual skills needed for war. Hell, the minute he gets out of the chamber he has to run through the streets to capture a killer. Its basically like 2 separate movies, the story of Steve being in the Super Soldier program, and him as a superhero, basically no development in between. Also the action was a bit lacking and personally I just find the character a bit boring. He's basically just a regular guy with a special shield, he doesn't even have any cool gadgets like Batman. I think the character just lends himself to a boring movie, but they pulled off a decent one. I know I talked a lot of crap about the movie, but I like it. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. I say that everyone should see it, but wait for the cheap rental unless you were really anticipating it.
Way to avoid my post capsizing heart and Im getting sick of people complaining that its a reboot. I understand complaints about Andrew (I think hes awesome but hes not as geeky as peter should be really), I understand complaints about the film that are legitimate but how does the fact that its a reboot make the film automatically bad. Its like people have forgotten that one of the current biggest franchises is a reboot. And better than the originals for a lot of people.
What post did I avoid? My B. If I missed something. And who said they're hating on this for being a reboot? I said it was a pointless reboot, but something pointless can still be good. Just from what I've seen so far, I'm not all that impressed. But then, that is what I said after the First Class trailer and seeing that cast and I LOVED that movie. I'm not counting Amazing out yet, I'm just expressing my opinion on the trailer they've released which was supposed to make me desire the movie. It didn't. I thought the Earth comedy sections of Thor were really strong. But the Asgard and fight sequences were really let down by obvious censorship and some awful CGI.
No sorry the complaints about reboot wasn't aimed at here. That was a general vent after seeing comments on the trailer. You have actual reasons for doubt which is fair and I don't mind that. It's the people who just say "I already watched this" or something along those lines. sorry I should have clarified who I was talking about. My bad.
Fair enough. At least those in doubt can be sure that no matter how hard the reboot may or may not suck, it can't be worse than the 3rd Spiderman movie. And if it actually somehow is, God help us all.
Coolest sci-fi premise since Inception. Unfortunately it stars Justin Timberlake. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Despite Timberlake and that guy from the godawful Big Bang theory, that film has a great cast. Looks really fresh and good.
