Cars 2 was a disappointment. It felt way too much like a cash-in movie, and Pixar made no effort to even slightly cover up the incredibly cheesy plotline. Visuals were great, naturally, but the story felt "B"-grade at best. After the phenomenal sequel that Toy Story 3 was, this felt like a total let-down.
Oh man, I hated Toy Story 3 as well. Guess it's not worth me going to see Cars 2. Edit: Hate's too strong a word, I felt like Toy Story's time had come and gone. I'm far more excited by new Pixar projects these days.
I know. Sarcasm doesn't convey well across text. I never liked prequels. They take away any mystery and suspense when you know what's gonna happen in the future. Monster's Inc. is one of my favorite Pixar movies, but I wish they'd at least gone a different direction.
I love to watch movies. My favourite Movies are here : 1.Dream Well. 2.Maple Palm. 3.Gregory's Girl. 4. Lost in Translation. 5. My sassy girl.
The only movies I am truly anticipating arr all from Legendary Pictures strangely enough: Superman reboot, next Dark knight, and Godzilla
Meh. I'll still watch it, though. If you're going into a Transformers film expecting a story, you're seriously naive.
Noooooooooooooo!!!! Gosh friggin' dangit. They've just forgotten how to let things go all of a sudden.
Pixar has turned into a studio full of geniuses into a studio full of geniuses with horrible producers. The trilogy was nearly perfect for me (the last one felt a little too cheesy compared to the darker original, but was still great) with actual, satisfying closure.
Why? They made one average movie out of 12. That's not horrible producing. TS4 won't happen. Pixar insisted it was over after 3, and I really doubt they would let Hanks in on a movie that's 3+ years away or let him announce it so casually. And if they were, which they wont, I'd bet the fourth would be really good too. Question though, I wonder if Pixar is finally being effected by Disney buying them. Merged in 2006, 5 years later(usually a 3 or 4 year development cycle) Cars 2 comes out(cash grab), Brave is being created(Fairy-ish tale), and a Monsters Inc sequel is in the works. Nonetheless, still the best animation studio
Ok, fine, so not horrible producing, but bouncing off what you mentioned about Disney's influence on Pixar, there's been a shift from pursuing unique, original titles to unnecessary sequels. Monster University just seems like a cheap idea that's been done multiple times in other prequels. I'm hoping that Pixar takes it's talents to fresher ideas to fresh new ideas instead of good, old ideas.
