I feel no shame. Transformers 2 was messed up but I still like it Transformers is my favorite movie all-time, Black Hawk Down a close second. I don't know.. He tried to be funny and it didn't work for me. At least Will Ferrell was funny. I like the movie, just not Mark Wahlberg.

Compare the fan trailer for Green Lantern with the real one. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Black Swan (Darren Aronofsky) has be getting a lot of hype as well. Nolan might get something due to the academy feeling pressure from the public (still fuming from TDK's not being nominated). You are right about sci-fi films getting snubs though, shit don't change.
TBH, James Cameron's Avatar was not THAT great either. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination- but it was basically Pocahontas on steroids. It was a fun watch, but it didn't deserve all the accolades it received
James Cameron's Avatar was terrible too. Visually stunning, but overall not a good movie. It was Dances with Wolves (or Pocahontas) with a liberal, New Age, environmentalist spin on it. Rarely do I sit through a movie wondering when it's gonna be over but I certainly did for Avatar.
Anyone see that movie Splice or whatever? That movie was... just f*cking terrible. What about Shipping News with Kevin Spacey? Again. Terrible godawful movie.
