I wouldn't say adore, but yes. I do. Ditto. Haven't seen III yet, but I love 2 almost as much as the first.
I liked the first National Treasure movie. Second one was kind of eh. I also like Hangover I and II equally. While Hangover II stuck to the same formula as the first movie, it was even more ridiculous. Have yet to see part III. Was going to, but a friend decided we should see Man of Steel instead .
My top favorite movie is directed by Guy Ritchie - called "Revolver". Anyone see it? The information from IMDB can be found here Great movie and for Statham it shows depth that many of his other movies wouldn't touch.
So I bought both Spring Breakers and The Host yesterday! Can't wait to try either. Spring Breakers sounds like a much smarter and more interesting film than it was marketed as... and I have a soft spot for Twilight, so I'm hoping I enjoy The Host. I also picked up that Robot Chicken DC Comics Special DVD. It was just $10, so I was like, "Eh... why not? "
Yeah, my cousin who is a bit of a film buff recommended it to me. I'm not really too surprised that it was actually good though. I was interested in seeing it.
I think what really turned me off of it was the director. I absolutely despised Gummo and Kids (which I believe Harmony Korine had a hand in writing?). Ugh.
The host? While I got people enjoying Twilight, The Host has been panned by almost everyone. It's one of the worst reviewed films by audiences AND critics. I'm all for watching some questionable films, but man... I wish you much luck in that, and hope you gotta really, really good deal on it
Well cheify is a twilight fan (read the nerdiest thing you ever did thread). I won't judge it tough. I also won't watch it. Its not my thing.
You and I are definitely in agreement there. Korine is just this gross excuse of a human being. I liked kids for one scene, and one scene only and not because it was some sort of powerful scene, but because I was 17 when it came out and reciting "I have no legs" amused my friends, I somehow excused the movie. I haven't, and won't ever see Gummo after all I've heard and seen about it. So spring breakers is almost something I would hate watch, but meh... It's not like I don't have a ginormous backlog of stuff that is far more important to watch. Like Airplane for the umpteenth time. Or socks. Just socks.
Pshhh. I can find enjoyment in it... I hope. Truthfully, I feel like the reviews were more of a bandwagon mentality. As soon as they got wind of it being based on a book from the same author as Twilight, they just went in wanting to hate it; even worse, I bet some of them just didn't watch it and wrote their reviews based on word-of-mouth. I've heard The Host is a much more well-written novel than the Twilight series. I haven't read it, myself, though. Thank you for the good luck! I got it for a wonderful deal! If standard Blu-ray new release price at Best Buy is a wonderful deal I'll let you know how it is Hahaha. The reasons I enjoy Twilight are the same reasons I adore movies like Sex and the City, Josie & the Pussycats, Letters To Juliet, etc. etc.: personal reasons that nobody on here will take seriously. But hey, I'm glad you remember me dressing up as Alice Cullen! Word really spreads around on here And I don't ask you to watch it. I know it's a bad series. But hey... I love them for some reason, despite all their flaws. Ugh. Honestly, it's been so long, I don't even know which scene you're talking about. But that movie was so horrible, though mainly for me it was for moral reasons. I am also not a fan of the director at all because I'm pretty sure he's a pedophile of some sort. Maybe not a pedophile, but he is definitely in the running for To Catch a Predator. It's probably a deadly drinking game, taking shots every time you see a scene where teens have their shirts off or are participating in sexual acts in his movies. He's a creep. Larry Clark, I think? Thankfully it sounds like Spring Breakers is much more accessible and less disturbing than Gummo. I mean, it got a wide release, didn't it? That's proof enough! I hope Hey! I will do that when I get around to watching it For the time being, here is a lovely imp I found from Deviant Art:
Oh, I remember that. He dressed in drag or something right? A movie that looks interesting is Snowpiercer. Very interesting.
