I want to put my faith in Del Toro, and the actors are pretty stellar. No one can doubt the intensity of Elba or Hunnam. The fact that it is being co written by the writer of crap such as Clash of the Titans and Dog Days of Summer gives me serious concern. Serious, serious, serious concern. But then can it be any worse than transformers? As for the Killjoy and JBRUU situation, that's just them. You're coming a bit late to the party, but there is history there. They natter like an old annoying couple . In relation to TWBB and No Country, both are excellent movies in my opinion and they both rank very highly with me, and are on the absolute top of my films from the 2000s. Absolute top. I've seen both films well over 10 times each, and I've read No Country, which proves how solid the Cohen bros hand is in the adaptation. But for 07, the huge debate is what movie is on top. It's a very even split, but no country generally takes the win. It's a larger ensemble cast of some of the best actors. It leaves questions, and is subtle about the underlying message. I think the one thing that held TWBB back from being more widely accepted (though if we look at metacritic, TWBB is a 92 and No Country is a 91. Imdb has them very close together, 169 and 139 respectively) is the final scene. I loved it (and the milkshake mash up on youtube is amazing) but I do see how it would end up turning some people off from giving it a higher score, where no country doesn't have that, the ambiguity in the end (the car crash screen and the money) was not in the book, and made it a bit easier to digest in some ways, though I still have debate on whether not he was behind the door. No matter how many times I've seen it, I still go back and forth on it. On a happier note, saw Despicable Me 2 with my girls , first movie I've seen at a theater since Rise of the Guardians. I have to say that while it was a bit forgettable, the romance and whole bad guy plots were about as fleshed out as a dragonfly it was absolutely adorable. I know some people thought the minions were overdone, and they should have been more downplayed, I disagree. Heck, I went in expecting there would be more minions, and was a bit bummed they weren't in every scene. Though the end part, and I won't spoil it, is truly awesome. It's not going to win any awards, it's not necessarily better than the first one, but if you liked the minions, can forgive them for just shoehorning the plot on (I mean they really could have gone somewhere amazing) then you have to see it. I just wish my kids were in their teens so I could try and force them in to seeing This is the End with me, but I'm going to have to wait until it comes home. As to Now you See me, just a heads up that it really takes a head dive at the end, be forewarned that while it has some amazing set pieces, the ending pretty much tanks the story that came before it. I keep coming back to this, it can't be worse than transformers. At best, it will be a 6/7 and for a movie like that, I'm game! It looks flashy, boom-y and awesome. Though Lone Ranger was ass, and I was really hoping it would be better received. I mean, while the pirates movies were far from good, they were still decent, Lone Ranger seems like the crap that gets excreted from a dog's anal glands.
Full disclosure: I adore Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Something about that movie really spoke to me. I love it love it love it. I think I've seen it 10 times by this point. So good <3 So if Pacific Rim is like that... then maybe I'll enjoy it! But I have a feeling it is nothing like that. Oh okay. I'll rescind my invitation to the JBRUU and k1ll_joy party. Really... Well my dad hated that end scene in There Will Be Blood, but I thought it was brilliant. Actually, on my end, it's what pulled the movie together for me as a true masterpiece. Especially the bowling pin part! It was such a beautiful juxtaposition to the opening scene... gah. <3 Probably the most memorable juxtaposition I've ever seen, actually. I just love it. That was my interpretation at least. Good to hear about Despicable Me 2! I only slightly enjoyed the first one but I recently bought it and want to give it another shot. The new one definitely looks funny, though... something the original did not. I have a worry, though: is there any potty humor? That turns me off of anything. Rango was a masterpiece all-around, but the potty humor... it just ruined it. I felt the same way about Now You See Me the first time I saw it. I thought the big twist was stupid and didn't work, and I also thought the whole movie suffered as a result of it. It's one of those twists where the movie is ruined because of it. ...but then I watched the movie a second time, knowing the twist, and I enjoyed it much more. I really really liked it that time. I suggest you give it another shot!
I liked DoTM much better than avengers myself. I watched it multiple times as well and it really is still fun to watch. I think Rim will be real nice. It seems to carry a Megas Xlr esque "anything goes, and everthing will" in the fights. Storywise? Looks to be a nice buddy cop style with the gravelly old guy and the rookie pairing up to save the world. If anything it probaldly won't be as bad as people are shaping it up to be. Remember, theres still a good crew here.
At no point in your crazy rambling did I feel you made any valid and consistent points. As the old adage goes, if you throw the baby out with the laundry detergent, only a shovel will get you to the other side of the backseat. It speaks volumes to how Bueller you muster. More muster than the custardly mustard that musters up on Colonel Mustard's mustache when he's mistaking mashed potatoes for Custard's curds.
I can't tell if you're just going along with the joke or you really think I was being serious. Did you even read my post and try to comprehend it? Totally a joke.
That post was complete spam. So would this one, were I not to mention that Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 looks awesome. Loved the first one.
Speaking about movies, I personally don't get much of an good impression from Pacific Rim, but as previously said, it can't be worse than the Transformers movies Also, going to see DM2 today
Yeah, homie. That was the point! I thought I'd start out with that Bueller quote and devolve it into something so crazy and insane that you'll never be able to decode the hidden message within! Even I don't know the hidden message... and I wrote the dang thing! Speaking of hidden messages, anyone else just adore National Treasure? I don't understand why it seems to be so unpopular. I love it so much <3 I also really like the second one. I don't care about playing the formula too safe. I loved the formula in the first one and was glad they followed it note-for-note in the second one. Same thinking can be applied to the first two Hangover films: love both of them. And I think Hangover Part III is actually my favorite of the trilogy. <3
