So I saw Monsters University a second time, this time with my parents, and I can officially say I love it. I was having a hard time proclaiming that I loved it... I really really liked it, but something was holding me back from saying I "loved" it.

Now it has come to the point that I can comfortably say the story didn't bother me nearly as much this time, I just sat back and laughed at everything again, and even caught a couple more sight gags that I had no idea about the first time!

So I loved it. So funny! :D

This is the End looks so friggin hilarious. When you assemble this kind of cast, you know shit's gonna be funny. Having Danny McBride in there just makes me want to see it so much more.

Just watched Frankenstein (1994)... I remember it watching as a kid, but I didn't remember that it's such a great movie. Well, now I can safely say that it is.

I was also surprised when I found out that Robert de Niro was the Frankenstein's Monster.

Danny McBride alone will make it enjoyable. Throw in the rest of the cast and you've got a guaranteed hilarious movie.

I thought it was beyond terrible but I can see why people think it's decent and it's more because I'm mad for hyping up the movie so much because Nolan's name was attached to it and the trailers looked amazing. I knew after seeing the intro scene that I was not going to enjoy this at all. Didn't care for any of the characters, script and everything just felt so off and out of place for me. I guess it's my own fault for having such high expectations for it and I know better now that there really aren't any good Superhero movies besides thor (decent) Iron man 1 (pretty good) and all of Nolan's Batman movies (excellent). Everything else I've seen was pretty terrible. Oh well. I will say though anything Nolan directs I will continue getting excited for and I can't wait until his next film comes out late next year :D :D :D

Nolan is one of my favorite directors. His Batman movies are my favorite superhero movies, and his other films are also amazing. I'm really looking forward to Interstellar, his next film.

Man of Steel was not a bad film at all. I guess it just didn’t live up to the hype. If you want a bad superhero movie: Green Lantern, Iron Man 2..

Anyways, seeing Despicable Me 2 later this week!

  10. Call me crazy, but I'd much rather watch Green Lantern or Iron Man 2 than Man of Steel again.

Superman is my least favorite superhero.

Again, I disagree. There was virtually no story and bland characters. It wasn't the actors fault, they did their best, but even the best actor can't do much with a shallow character.

And I actually liked Iron Man 2. Better than 3, at least. None of them are as good as the first one, though.

Whoa... hey now. :( Iron Man 2? Why does it get so much hate? :( Iron Man 3 was a million times worse than I could have ever imagined. UGH. I'll stop there. But I think Iron Man 2 is about on-par with the first one, personally.

:( I'm not a fan of Danny McBride personally. He's so repulsive whenever he's on-screen in anything he does. I don't like his humor or his delivery at all. He's just nasty a lot. I did laugh at some of his jokes in This Is the End, though.

Mine as well. But Man of Steel made me realize that he's not all that terrible in the grand scheme of comic books! :D

Me third. I just find the character to be boring, personally. I like superheroes who are more human. Superman is just too damn powerful in the grand scheme of things.

No... You can't apologize a bad movie with saying that the main hero is too powerful. I'm sure you watched the Watchmen. Dr. manhattan is practically a God, but Watchmen is still one of my favorite superhero-movie ever.

It's not about the super-powers, but about hero's perception of the world, his enemies and his story. Unfortunately, the main hero is usually too powerful and they had to make some super-ultra-powerful aliens as his/their opponents. That's just the worst.

Man of steel was amazing with the action sequences and the fight with faora...but i do agree over all there was not enough character development. Its like they rushed him into the suit and the majority was ass kickery. The flash backs where what they used to develop the character but it was so brief. Jonathan Kent is completely forgettable. I still enjoyed it overall but i was heart broken.

    Hey hey! Spoiler alert! :p

The way he got his suit was so ridiculous, I laughed. I also laughed when
    Kent died saving his DOG
. I wish they would've focused more on the actual story and characters instead of rushing to get to the mindless action.

oops! my bad lol. the sound track is amazing though! Not to make an overused comparison, but batman begins did it right. Man of steel doesn't need to be as serious or dark/gritty but in terms of giving the characters more depth. the action sequences would have had like 10x the impact if we cared.

I agree, the soundtrack was awesome. That's pretty much the only good thing about the movie. Oh, and Amy Adams.

Here's the thing; I agree. They tried giving superman that dark, serious tone they gave Batman, but it just doesn't work for ol' Clark. Or at least, it didn't work in this film.
