I watched all of the original series, and the next generation. I also watched all the movies following the series. I then watched the enterprise series. I then watched the 2009 JJA movie. And loved it mostly because I had watched the original series. I think without having watched the original series, the movie would be very lame. But it's hard to know, cuz I watched Star Trek for years. I couldn't tell you if it would be enjoyable without seeing the show, but it definitely wouldn't be as enjoyable. The cast, references, and everything are what I loved about the JJA movie.
Well, I've already started downloading it. Probably something I'll watch before the new film is released this year. It's rated highly on iMDB but the message boards seem to have a lot of hate for the movie. Guess I'll have to see for myself.
I loved it and am only a mild fan of the series (original and next generation). It was a massive hit with noobs tho as well. Spock and co are cultural icons so it does a pretty good job of not alienation noobs or vets. Not sure with all that action and awesomeness why you would think it would be very lame
Finished Shutter. Loved it. My recommendation would be to watch a a few of the old Star Trek episodes. You'll get a feel for it, get to know the characters, and be able to respect the new movies.
I don't know. Which one do I watch? What if I like it and want to watch more? What if I hate it and then don't want to watch the movie? Can't take that chance man.
I didn't 3D Toy Story 3 I 3D'd Finding Nemo though 3D Iron Man 3 if you want to...I mean, can't be as bad as 3D'ing Green Hornet, am I right? (as someone who watched it in 2D whilst barely paying attention to it (because, you know, it's rubbish), I couldn't think of anywhere the 3D could have been used except the credits)
