No, strangelove is a perfect and beautiful kind of funny. Though there are some Scott and Sellers scenes that make me laugh out loud every time.

Shaun and Fuzz are amazing for me. I can see how someone wouldn't like them, or think them overrated, but I love Pegg, Frost and Wright together. They give me endless amusement, though I felt Spaced was, well, meh.

    "Ze Germans, tommy?"

I can also see not liking TT, I think I saw it at the right time with the right people. If RDJ, Jack Black and Tom Cruise weren't so spot on amazing in it, I think I'd have hated it. But RDJ alone is enough to take a mediocre film and turn it into a masterpiece.

Hell, if he was in Superbad I might have liked it ;)

He was the only reason I gave it a chance, but there's just so much dumb**** humour I couldn't get around it.

    Shame on you.

Ninja is a walking ball of shame. Have you seen Djano yet FFS?

Dude, you've only been alive for a few years! And DVD, really? What is it, 2001?

And it heavily disturbs me knowing you're young enough to be my kid. It's a very weird math when you get old.

You know, I have no idea how I've gone all this time and have never seen Almost Famous.

It has everybody in it, Jason Lee, Zooey Deschanel, everybody!

Oh Kenny, I think I need to add Zooey to my alternate list for the girls. She's just... Nom.

Notice you guys been talking about comedies.

Had the chance to watch Liar Liar the other day with Jim Carrey.

You know what? I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in a movie. That scene in the boardroom, I was actually laughing out loud. Oh and this quote:
    Was friggin hilarious! :D

It's such a simple, silly, even childish little film. But Carrey's performance was outrageous. Really, really recommend it guys! :D

Also watched Burn After Reading yesterday. (Clooney, Pitt, Coen Brothers. It also has the chick from Fargo)

Found it very entertaining. But felt like something was missing...

Is she that chick from New Girl?

Wes Anderson is an acquired taste. Not for everyone but I find his stuff really rich. A couple off the top of my head.
    The Life Aquatic
    Fantastic Mr Fox
    Moonlight Kingdom
    Darjeeling Limited
    The Royal Tenenbaums

I think by the time Liar Liar came out, I was just burnt out on JC so while I liked it, I couldn't totally get into it. His shtick was way overdone for me. I mean hell, I'd watched ALL of his films, Ace Ventura, The Mask, ace Ventura 2, a trillion times. Hell, I saw the man on In Living Color when it aired, and he was always on. Always. Maybe if I went back now, I'd enjoy it more.

And to show how cool I am, I had this shirt in High School. It was slightly different, in black and I know this has no relation to JC, it's a tangent because In Living Color.

To relate how cool I was in high school - it was at least a XXL. Yeah baby. The ladies were all over me.

Another tangent, I was google image searching for the shirt. I came across this....

I like the... Erm... Batman logo?

And on JC, anyone remember this?

    BACK ON TOPIC, HONEST!!!

I did enjoy The Truman Show, Man on the Moon was interesting but Me, Myself and Irene was.... Yeah.

Oh yes. Oh yes. Oh yes.

And I count them as one since they're sisters and I DO NOT CARE BECAUSE OM. NOM. OM.

Agreed. You'll find some of the best directors have really close and constant relationships with actors.

Coppola, PTA, Anderson, Truffaut, Melville, Fincher all had great relationships and worked with the same actors many times. Personally, I LOVE it so much.

That said, even with everything going right with Burn, "something missing" is exactly what I felt. I was so disappointed. FRICK, brad Pitt and clooney! Those two are two of the best actors in this generation, they're so charismatic and entertaining.

I need to watch Oceans 11 again.

    OH BACK AGAIN on topic.

I watched Almost Famous tonight, which reminded me of Z...

13 years I've been waiting to watch it.

Building up, thinking "hey, I need to watch that!" And time kept ticking by....

So something tonight said it was finally time. And I watched it.

    And how was it?

Did it live up to the hype?

Was it as good as everyone said?

    Did it BLOW MY MIND?

Here's how I felt after finishing it and letting it digest:

    meh.

Uh. Kenny. Have you seen any film of Sofia's other than LiT?

    Anderson isn't a director you'd enjoy I don't think.

Yep. You missed Bottle Rocket, Rushmore and one or two "shorts" that he did.

For me, this is my Anderson list in severely descending order:

    1. Royal
    2. Moonlight
    3. Fantastic
    4. Darjeeling

The rest? Meh. I know people love Rushmore, Bottle Rocket and The Life Aquatic but I just don't get it. Meh. Just meh.

Whoa really?! He's such an oddball director. The reason I love Wes so much is because of the tiny details. The random comments and labels everywhere. Bizaare character entrances. It's like exploring an old photo album in your grandpas house. His victories are never too epic either. No one wins everything in his films.

That's why The Life Aquatic rocked for me. Everything from the Bowie songs being done in French to the awkward attempted kiss in a hot air balloon. Plus the fish scene at the end gave the Sigur Ros song time to shine. Something Vanilla Sky couldn't do. The Team Zissou badges!! Fek.

All good. I so get why alot of people don't dig some of his stuff:)

    I haven't :p

But I think she has a film coming out this year starring Emma Watson <3

I'll be watching that hopefully :)

Dammit. Always been wanting to watch Heat, but never found the time given its length. I mean Pacino and De Niro? God damn.

Never heard of Ninja Scroll, might look that one up!

Love me some Django <3 The 'D' is silent fyi.

    Crouching Tiger
    Kill Bill
    Lethal Weapon
    The Avengers
    The Rock
    Bourne Trilogy
    Matrix
    Terminator 2
    Die Hard

    Those are my top 5.

There will be no argument from anyone. THOSE ARE MY TOP 5.

    Get it?

    Good.

    Sigh.

    Cred - 9000

You can't call a director your fav if you've only seen one of their films, especially if said director has only DONE a few films :p. go watch virgin suicides at least. There's pretty girls in it :)

To be honest, Heat is overrated. Kenny, I do think you'd be bored. Trust me, I got excited with the "ZOMG PACINO AND DE NIRO IT IS GONNA BE OMG!!!"

It is SO VERY VERY VERY VERY LONG. There's a few exciting scenes in it, but there are so many that AREN'T

I'll go for The Departed over Heat I think. Heat isn't a bad movie by any means, but I went in expecting way more and didn't get what I hoped. I like boring movies, but when Mann misses for me, it becomes SOOOOOO boring. I keep wanting to give it another try but then I don't. Because it's so long.

It's so long John Holmes looks at it and cries.

You have listed 9 films. How can they be your top 5? :p

I'm shocked that you would think I would only watch a film because it has pretty girls!! :D

But yeah, your opinion on Heat is exactly what I thought of about TWBB.

Long and boring, with very few exciting scenes. The music was weird, the ending was crap. Not to mention having to wait 2 and a half hours for there actually to be blood. Dammit. IN ADDITION, there were no girls which further exacerbates my dislike for it.

Yes, ninjackid, I read your post. It wasn't simply because of the lack of girls that I disliked it. Heck, Django didn't have many girls in it either, and it's figgin' awesome! :D :D

    ninjackid <3 :D
