Yeah, dude. I'm actually pretty skeptical about this sequel. And Pixar's latest efforts in general. I mean the last two, (Brave and Cars 2) were pretty average. They seem to be losing their touch, unfortunately. I wish they'd stop making sequels/prequels and go back to making original movies.
A whole movie based around Dory...*insert fanboy screams* I watched Wreck-It Ralph last night...I swear all Disney wants to do is to make me cry
D'awww... I just wanna pinch your widdle cheek!!! Kidding, kidding!!! Seriously, I see exactly what you are saying. Ralph, along with Tangled, are some of the best animated films to hit this generation. I've not laughed so much since, well, Toy Story 3! I will give brave a much heartier recommendation, however. I loved that film, but I also love Celtic culture, Scottishness in all it's forms (I'm Irish on my dad's side, my mother in law is Scottish) and seeing actors I love (Kevin McKidd, Billy Connoley, Robbie Coltrane) was enough to make up for any shortcomings in the story, which I STILL feel has gotten a much worse rap than it deserves. One of the things I'm stupidly disappointed with is the lack of extras on Ralph. It was so heavily promotes, but so terribly mistreated. Coming from someone who lived through the entirety of the subject matter (I was king of up up down down left right, all the little in jokes) it deserved scores of information. A commentary track, interviews with the actors, so much more like you'd find on Disney discs. Anyway. Disney has lessened somewhat, but they're still one of the best out there. While Madagascar isn't terrible, it's nothing in comparison to Brave, Tangled, and so on. Cars and Cars 2 were mediocre, that I'll agree, but it never started out decent, it was mediocre from the get go. To follow up something mediocre and get something better is very difficult. Madagascar was able to do it (with 3) but it's very rare. I have very little hope for Planes, which has had some really crappy trailers as well, they are all so boring it's not even funny. Dave Foley can't even rescue it. Anyway, I love animated films. Ralph is certainly in my top 10 animated films of all time (Double stripe!) along with The Fantastic Mr. Fox, which makes me so happy that I can share a Wes Anderson movie with my kids. If you like good things and haven't seen Ralph yet, you should be ashamed of yourself. On a more serious movie note, I watched Amarcord last night, a Fellini film (my first) and... I don't know. It was very strange and I'm uncertain how I feel about it at this point. With films that have this much history and depth to it, I always need to do research and listen through with the commentary on, which will help to expand my understanding. Along with that, I started watching Shoah. If you've never heard of it, it is a documentary about the Holocaust. It runs almost 9 hours long, and so far it is scarily haunting. It's well worth checking out if you have any interest in the holocaust, it's the most disturbing kind of horror movie. There are no scary scenes, but just imagine hearing someone explain to you how they were tormented and tortured, but survived a concentration camp. The first story is about a boy who was 13 and somehow survived the massacre as they shut down a camp that killed over 400k Jews. He was one of 2 that made it. 2... 2! Anyway, check it out. I never mentioned it, or did I?, that Do the Right Thing is a very flawed, but very entertaining and amazingly shot movie. It's a roller coaster ride, it's insane, it's racist and there are lots of things that make you shake your head at Lee's ignorance, but going beyond that there are some amazing performances and it is brilliantly shot. Brilliantly. The colors and the sharpness all remind me of Kubrick, it's a visually stunning film and there's no doubt you'll be humming the Public Enemy track "Fight the Power" by the time it's done. And I love, love, that Lee put in a call back to Night of the Hunter. Crazily I watched DTRT for the first time in probably 20 years a week ago, 2 days after I watched the highly lauded but relatively obscure Night of the Hunter for the first time, but in there was a scene that DTRT copied as an homage from Night. I know y'all will never see these things... Though Midian MIGHT be into this? Come on man!
It's been available since the first week of theatre showing on my site.. Either way, I enjoyed it very much.

Nah your site's quality is only good for smaller screens. You gotta wait a bit longer for the better quality stuff.
