Curious, out of the Godfather trilogy, why is the third film made so late compared to the others? And how does the third film compare with the previous two?

3rd film is crap. It was made because Coppola needed the money after his film Tucker flopped

    Hah. No.

    Godfather 1 > Godfather 2 > Master of Disguise > Godfather 3 > nothing

Okay, well it isn't THAT bad, but the first 2 films are based directly from the book, the 3rd is just mediocre. I love Coppola and Puzo, but they proved that even they can create steaming piles of crap (see: Jack and Christopher Columbus)

So basically, there is a proper ending for Godfather 2? The third film isn't like a direct sequel or anything?

Yep, the 3rd does "end" the story, but it wasn't necessary in any way.

Saw GI Joe and Star Trek tonight with a friend. GI Joe, was ok. Decent popcorn flick.

Star Trek was pretty awesome, and I started watching it with no knowledge of Star Trek besides, 'Beam Me Up, Scotty!'

This thread is oh so quiet.

I watched no movies this eve, besides KFP2, though I did watch some of Spartacus. Strangely one of the few Kubrick movies I've never seen, mostly because I've always heard he hated doing it, as he didn't have full control, but I like Kirk Douglas and Peter Ustinov loads. Why do I love him so much? Disney's Robin Hood, baby! Prince John FTW!!
