You're gonna watch Pitch Perfect? That singing movie?? Ugh....I could understand if it was Alba or Johansson, but I wouldn't rate Kendrick as high as those even though she is very very very pretty.
The "new" comedies (Bridesmaids, Hangover, 21 Jump Street, The Other Guys) I find really meh. Anchorman and the movies made around then were great, though, but then things just went completely different with Hangover, it felt so incredibly overrated. And while I adore Kristen Wiig, she did nothing for me in Bridesmaids, which simply felt like The Hangover with women, I just didn't feel it. I did think Horrible Bosses was somewhat decent, but I look forward to, with high hopes, that Anchorman 2 doesn't suck. I hope you enjoy Wonderful Life. It's such a "safe" bet though, but I'll accept it even if it isn't on the list. I'm about 2/3rds through All About Eve, what an amazing movie, but man is it weird going back when wearing dead animals, including weird dead carcasses. Creepy as hell how different the world was 60 years ago.
It doesn't have to be GREAT, it has to GOOD and it has to be FUNNY You have no sense of humor. That being said, I somewhat agree, Shaun of the Dead, The Big Lebowski, Sideways, are definately better.
Kendrick is all sorts of awesome, don't knock her! She's top shelf. And Alba is meh. She's just meh. See I quite enjoyed Tropic Thunder as well, Shaun and hot Fuzz are two of my FAVORITE films. Hangover and its ilk were, FOR ME, overrated. Doesn't mean I don't have a sense of humor, I just don't love everything. I'm selective on what I like, Hangover isn't even close.
I think she's alright. Above average but I wouldn't bother thinking about her for too long. Better than Jennifer Connelly.
