The second and third are basically a two-parter and the storyline can get a little hard to follow, but the production values are just so good. Amazing makeup and effects, huge and spectacular set pieces, even the costumes are downright beautiful. It's a feast for the eyes and there's no doubting how fun Johnny Depp is to watch as Jack Sparrow. Definitely one of the top trilogies I can name, the fourth movie is weaker but I still found it enjoyable.
Yup, that's it. Now, you guys are probably going to kill me for this, but I haven't seen any of the Star Wars movies, (except the original trilogy once, but that was over 10 years ago, so I don't think that counts as I remember close to nothing about them.) So, I plan on re-watching the whole series, but my question is, should I watch the prequel trilogy first, then the original trilogy? Or the original trilogy first, then the prequels? Or should I skip the prequels all together and go right to the originals?
Watch the original series first. (v, vi, vii). Then watch I II & III. (Never did like the prequels.) I grew up obsessed with three things. Boobs, race cars, and Star Wars. And Batman. And a bunch of other stuff. But whatever.
I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, I've had more enjoyment from some of the games than the movies. Seen the original trilogy twice and they're pretty cool, but as much as the fans seem to think they're timeless they still feel a little old to me. Seen the new trilogy too and really don't care about it at all, the first was fun but these are barely worth bothering with... unless you just need to know what happens. Since we're still talking trilogies, I much prefer the Indiana Jones trilogy to Star Wars, those movies are immense fun.
Only if you like the first ones I'm a Harrison Ford fan, a Shia Lebeouf fan, and an Indiana jones fan, so that was enough for me.
Speaking of Shia Lebeouf, another trilogy I never saw is Transformers. Shit, that's a lot of movies I've never seen...
Just been to see THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE. Quite funny in places and an all star line up. The problem with the film is that their's long pauses between the laughs which makes it neither an out and out, laugh out loud comedy or anything else. It's kind of cheesy in some places, mushy in others and funny elsewhere. Overall, a typical Steve Carroll movie and has a nice feel good factor at the end. It's not bad, but as all great magicians do, it left you wanting more (from it).
I wanna see that one. It's a shame that that's what the general consensus is of it, I was hoping for an all-out laugh fest with Carrey and Carell.
I think I'm going to respond to every one of ninjackid's posts with "did you see Predator, the Shawshank Redemption and Aliens yet?" until he sees them.
He hasn't seen star wars???????? And he frequents the movie thread????? Where's the tar & feathers. We have a victim.
