Having been working hard on the latest updates to one of my game, I love relaxing with a few DVD. Got quite a collection (around 500 films). Added to it last week with The Prestige, The Help and The Green Mile. Not seen The Green Mile yet but with MCD passing away recently, it was in the forefront of my mind. Most people recommend watching it.
Wreck-It Ralph releasing this Friday. Skyfall releasing next Friday. Two sick weeks of movies to start off November.
Well, I saw Argo, Loopers, Paranormal Activity 4, and Taken 2. I liked Taken 2 the most, it was very enjoyable and action filled. If you liked the first one, you will like this one. Argo was better than I though, well worth to see. It's not really a fast paced movie, but it will keep you on your toes. Loopers was pretty good, corny at some times, but I liked the science fiction based theme, and the twist plots caused by it. Paranormal 4, well, it was just ok, I'm not really a horror movie nut, but this movie does get you to jump once in a while. Recommend Taken 2, Argo, and Loopers, they were good movies.
Went to the cinema yesterday to watch Here comes the boom with Kevin James and Salma Hayek (still looks hot). I don't normally go to see a KJ film and not seen him in one since Hitch but I thought, been a long week so what the heck (or should that be Hayek). To sum it up, it's ok but nothing overly special. It has a slow and typical start and middle and gets better towards the end with a good, if slightly predictable ending and feel good factor. Their's a couple of genuine laugh out loud moments, a couple of good smile moments and the rest is much of a muchness. I came out of the cinema feeling pretty good, but would only give it 6.5/10.
Just come back from watching Skyfall - The new James Bond movie. Really enjoyed it. Had all the Bond elements, very visual and well crafted. Quite funny as well. Well worth seeing.
I heard it more often called Twilight: Breaking Wind Act II Anyway... I just saw Avatar (yes I didn't see it in theaters, shoot me), and didn't really like it at all. Every character was a stereotype, there was precious little actual acting because everything was CGI, the plot was unbearably simple and predictable with zero twists, and the new-agey naturalism was really in your face. And the attempts at "epic" came off mainly as rather cheesy and dumb. (This is coming from a guy who loved Aliens) But yes the visuals were astounding. Also picked up The Prestige, hoping it is better than Avatar mainly due the the incredibly talented cast and director.
So many films to see during break next week: Wreck-It Ralph, Skyfall, Lincoln, Life of Pi..damn. Very excited.
