That's what I'm thinking..I guess people aren't really into "superhero" movies that are rated R.

It is so much like Raid : The redemption (imdb it)
Thats why the studios of Dredd tried to churn it out ASAP & also the publicity is huge.

I wanted to see that, but it was an extremely limited release. Wasn't showing in Houston.

The Avengers on DVD will be out tomorrow!

Looper looks pretty awesome. It's coming out tomorrow. Bruce Willis and Gordon-Levitt. Great reviews too.

Finally going to theaters again next weekend. It's been quite a while. Will be seeing Looper along with Dredd or End of Watch.

Its an awesome fun movie of those times... infact this is the same thread where I learnt about that movie's name which I had seen partially years ago & was still finding it to re-watch it.

Hotel Transylvania opened to $43M this past weekend. No film has done that well since TDKR in July.. Best opening weekend ever in Sep. too. Looper managed to pull in over $20M as well. Sick weekend for the Box Office after over a month of terrible openings.

If you haven't seen The Raid: Redemption, it's a nice intro to eastern action films/thrillers. You just don't shit on that level in the US. Just watched it last night with a friend. The English dub is so terrible though, lol. I was planning on seeing it back in March when it came out in the US, but it wasn't showing at the theaters in Houston! Still a great film, but you'll probably be better off finding the original version of the film that uses subtitles.

Here's the Rotten Tomatoes link for The Raid: Redemption - http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_raid_redemption/ … It's available at Redbox right now.

    No surprise

Hollywood has purchased the rights to remake raid:redemption with a new director as the director of the original turned it down. And I've read somewhere that Hollywood is planning to remake enter the dragon with Matt Damon in the Bruce lee role.

I wanna go see Sinister when it gets released later but no-one wants to come see it. :(

  15. My favourites:

    1)Shawshank Redemption
    2)Goodfellas
    3)Remember the Titans

I went to see LOOPER a few days ago. Big sic-fi fan and anything about time travel. Story was good and so was the acting. As with most time travel films, you really have to pay attention as to why things happen the way they do. If the ending was better then it would have been a very interesting and great movie. Just good however and enjoyed it.

Just watched Iron Man (yes late I know) and my only reaction is meh. I heard it was pretty darn good as far as comic nook movies go, and seeing how I loved the Batman and the original Spider-Man trilogy I thought it would be a tad better than it was. Did I mis anything or was this really just supposed to be a cheesy, rather forgettable movie with some neat action sequences?

    Saw Looper and Frankenweenie today.

Looper has to be the best movie I've seen since TDKR. JGL literally gets better with every film. Bruce Willis also rocks. Great action scenes and finally a sci-fi with an enjoyable/clever plot? Hell yes. See it.

Frankenweenie should not be a Disney film. Tim Burton is a strange one. All I could think throughout it was "wtf, wtf, wtf." Meh.

Edit: My parents decided that we needed the 4-disc edition of The Avengers (DVD, BR, BR 3D, digital copy), lol. Well then. The Avengers is the first movie I'll be syncing to an iDevice after all these years..never had a movie on iTunes before this.

Holy shit, Taken 2 broke $50m this weekend. To say the least, ratings and critics don't determine Box Office outcomes.

  19. I know!
I saw the Taken 2 trailer and thought it was the same stuff all over again. With more killing.
And the daughter gets kidnapped again! again!
