The watch was ok, kind of corny but had a lot of funny stars. Actually the funniest one was the least known guy, Richard Ayoade, never really seen him much, but his off the cuff zingers were pretty funny. Just the storyline was a little corny, a neighborhood watch that ends up going after Martians is a little of a stretch, but it was kind of funny. Not great, but ok. But man, batman was awesome, especially in the high priced stadium theater, the sounds and graphics were awesome.
Cool, sounds like I'll wait until it hits redbox. And I agree, TDKR was brilliant. Best movie of the year so far, IMHO!
Glad hes doing well, hes a british actor and was in a series called The IT Crowd about an IT helpdesk, a very funny series, think it ran for 4 series before finishing. He acted as the 'super nerd' in that show, very funny, worth watching
Watched Shutter Island again just the other day, and I was left wondering why it got so much hate when it released. I actually enjoyed the film when it came out- it didn't have perfect pacing, but it was still good. I honestly think they did the best possible job they could have with the story- there is so much psychological stuff going on that it's hard to easily put into the movie- Spoiler especially since you see everything from 'Teddy's' (Andrew) point of view (the guy this psychological stuff is happening/happened too). It also portrayed psychological disorders with accuracy- more accurately than most other movies and shows that try to touch on psychological illnesses. It also had beautiful cinematography, and good special effects. Sad movie- Spoiler another one where nobody really wins. Though you could argue that 'Teddy' (Andrew) won, because he didn't want to live with what he had done, and was going to be lobotomized- possibly losing his memory. Funny thing is, I checked IMDb and it has an 8/10- it used to have a significantly lower score when it released.
Heading out to see Premium Rush since we have free tickets. Probably the last time I'm going to the theaters for quite a while. Next time I go, it'll probably be the holiday season again. Looked through last summer's catalog of films the other day. Compared it to this summer's offerings. Hollywood did terrible this year. So, so terrible. I was literally at the theaters on a weekly basis last summer, seeing two films each time. With the exceptions of The Avengers and TDKR, I was dragged to the theaters about once to twice a month this summer to see one film. Good: Avengers, TDKR Decent: MiB3, TASM, Ted Sucked: Snow White, Prometheus, Brave, Total Recall That's literally all I've seen this summer. Seeing PR today makes 10 total for the summer.
Even Joseph Gordon-Levitt couldnt save Premium Rush after his excellent performance in TDKR. Seriously, what did I just watch?.. The ratings it's been getting are way too high, lol. Seriously though, the plot..
Watched "The Dictator" uncut, unrated version. Great for cheap laughs. Some parts are pretty nasty, but it's a Sacha Baron Cohen comedy, so it's expected. I'd give it 6/10. Regular version was better for me.
Well, Premium Rush made $6.3m this opening weekend, coming in 8th in the BO. That says it all. Really should have watched something else, lol..
The New York times recently featured an article with the director of this film, he mentioned at length that the bike chase scenes are influenced by the famous car/subway chase from the French connection.
