So anyone have any tips for me starting off as a new player? Started a profile but did terrible in the trials is it? Then not so good in the race either.

Upgrading anything at the start just puts me into minus cash flow so unsure if I should wait or will I not earn anything unless I do?

Also tips for the races as I did as it recommended ect but managed to lose 3rd all the way down to 8th and 12th or so.

Just thought I'd try asking here for tips ect before I go looking elsewhere, going to reset my profile.

Not sure how useful my tips might be as I'm not all that dominant either but here goes anyway...

    1) invest in your factory facilities early as it take some races before they get built. By having more upgrades you are more likely to get bonus cash for fulfilling sponsor requirements so you will kind of get your investment back within the season. Get more staff basically.

    2) in Qualifying I do tend to stick to the suggested setups and send driver out on soft tyres for 2 laps. Don't send them out at same time, try to find gaps in the traffic so they don't get held up or hold each other up.

    3) after 2 laps send them out again on a different setup (one you think from looking at the shape of the circuit might be more appropriate) and compare their times. 97% of the time the suggested ones are quicker for me anyway.

    4) in the races, I tend to start off on hard tyres if we are in the middle or towards back of the pack, and put them on conserve tyres for most of the time unless you are right up close to a car in front. This lets you eek out several more laps and doesn't really slow you down much. You can jump up several places when other cars in front pit.

    5) if you qualify higher then wiser to put them on normal aggression. With small use of "push" if looks like you could pass someone. Don't leave them on push. It's not worth the massive extra tyre wear for the perceived benefit.

5b) more advanced is actually looking for when your competitors pit in, then push to try and make it so when you pit later, you can come out ahead. It's a lot to take in tho if you are on different strategies. The game goes too fast even on normal speed IMO to really feel on top of this.

    6) key thing (the biggest killer) is not pitting soon enough when your tyres start to go off. With soft tyres they fall off really quickly. So as soon as they are down to 25% if you are near end of a lap you best come in. Don't risk 1 more lap!! With hard tyres you could start the next lap after the wear is 75% and maybe even push a bit if you feel you got enough left on them.

    7) rain - this is the most interesting aspect and just like in real life, timing and deciding the right tyres at the right time can completely transform your race and get you a result you really shouldn't have had, or bork you up if you get it wrong. Just watch the wet meter fill up and make sure you get in for wet tyres before it hits the top!

    8) I'm really not sure about extending contracts of staff and drivers, or just letting them sod off and replacing them when the time comes. Haven't tried both ways enough to come to a definitive answer here.

Overall though there is only so much tactics will do for you. If the car isn't upgraded enough there's pretty much nothing you can do to beat the odds regularly over a whole race distance. In my current game I am struggling now to get any top 8 finishes. Then you don't get the sponsor bonuses and it's a slippery slope down!!!

Good luck and ask if you have any specific questions ;)

I wouldn't worry. It's a great game and you don't have to buy them. Just a way of getting a head start. You should buy it it's great

What's the difference between career mode and that other mode?

Does anyone know how wet the track should be before you pit for wet tires? Or dry tires, if the track is slowly drying.

I've been aiming for when the water indicator is up to its "neck" in blue.

    Think it's just personal preference/tactics.
Stay out longer if you are gaining distance... If gap is dropping fast, then best to get in fast n change before you lose too much time.
Sometimes the dry/wet weather is very brief, so worth staying out while the rest of field panic and pit to change tyres.... Then you gain as they will be putting yet again.
Check how long the dry/wet weather is going to last for before pitting.

Will anything new be added to this game soon?

I won constructors and drivers on the championship at top on left... Won 70 million, but the final challenge didn't unlock.
But then when I joined same championship, it said I had moved up.
What's strange is, it said championship I just done was 11 races... But I joined and now says 16 races

Yes it worth 0.99 I paid full price on release and it was worth it for me. I've not played it in quite a while now but it's a great game imo

Excellent game, but wish there were more content updates or a new version that I would willingly pay for!

I had a bug where I fired an engineer and hired a superior one, but the car performance dropped massively. Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding something?

I got myself stuck in a never ending cycle of losses and never played this again. Never got the mechanics of this game tbh.

Are we going to get some of the bells and whistles from the new PC version to the iOS version?
