I haven't seen this either. I usually send my better driver out with the recommended setup in an attempt to get the best starting position. I send the other out there to bumble around experimenting. I have yet to find a configuration that beats the recommended setup right from the start. (Note, I'm not a racing fan, so I can't just look at a track and know "that one needs my car tuned for acceleration.")
I don't exactly remember at the moment but it should be the same kind of notification as those shown when the driver says their tyres are in good condition. Something like 'I think that my performance would be better with a higher engine ratio'.
I've found setups that are faster than the recommended one - though with so few laps, it's hard to know if it was just an unusually fast lap or not. When the driver messages, "I think we'd go faster with downforce set for cornering" or whatever, it's always been when I'm trying a setting other than the recommended one - the driver always asks to use the recommended setup. If you find one that's faster, you just have to ignore that message.
Text bug. Even though my two drivers are 1st and 2nd, when they've lapped drivers and lapped cars over take for a moment or two, its states they've dropped down positions in the race - when they haven't.
There must be, because my iPad got wiped out (had to recover from factory settings, didnt have a backup because I had just replaced my computer) yet I was able to continue my previous game once I reinstalled the app.
Did poorly in the GB then won easily down under. Now doing the European circuit, first race, already had a driver retire. Challenging. How slow is the process of building up resources, i.e. development levels? I think in part I hold back a bit as I always look to go in the red if I invest too much.
Love all aspects of this game only wish tht the graphics of the running races actually showed cars opposed to colored dot representations. I believe this aspect of the game cld b greatly enhanced. Jmo.
Why have position numbers in qualifying? Here it shows that during qualifying I am 1st and 2nd on the track but the info at the top shows 7th and 14th positions. That is wrong. And why have position info during qualifying anyway? Since there is no order to when racers start their qualifying laps the only thing that counts is the elapsed time. https://www.evernote.com/l/AANGVU4IirZOdpPVBJsT1PyzflLCzxav9kQA
I usually wait for a review or player impressions before buying. A couple of dollars for a game that eventually goes on sale is not something that worries me. A few dollars is still a great bargain compared to what I pay on console.
Your positions up top during qualifying are your placements for the actual race based on your lap time. It doesn't matter what place you're in on the track, you aren't racing - you're only trying to beat your own lap time, or the other racers fastest lap time to qualify at a higher position. You can hit 1st in a qualifying lap time, and sit in the pit for a while if you wanted until your time was beat, because you aren't racing for a finish.
