I played through thr previous MMS (why do I feel there’s been two not three? Similarities perhaps ) Found it just too much to get into last night. Whilst lone parenting. Lots and lots of slightly ADHD info spammed at me before a series of mini games before the race. My 9yo has picked it up and flown with it tho, absolutely obsessed. I feel like there’s probably depth there, certainly a fair few systems to get across! Mythbuster Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2008 1,249 14 38 Journalist In the middle of nowhere #3 Mythbuster, Sep 14, 2023 InApp Purchase does not work ... I purchased the Bundle for the full price but it does not work ... there comes an Error message ... but the Money was booked off my Account ... what a shit ... And very unfair: Within a running game you can purchase the Bundle for the half price ... so I paid too much and it does not work ... Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,089 205 63 #4 Quoad, Sep 14, 2023 Yeah +1 to that. I’m assuming this is a bug and will work once fixed / through restore purchases. Of all things to get wrong this is obvs not a crowd pleaser. Oh, yes, and “ouch” at paying full price on that! Bloodangel Well-Known Member Jan 19, 2011 1,819 43 48 Retail England #5 Bloodangel, Sep 14, 2023 This looks same as the last version but with cars… or same as the iPad one that had cars. can’t see any big differences Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,107 480 83 #6 Brightsiderus, Sep 14, 2023 Yeah. Some error pops up after trying to get iap. Though I tried the free iap. ironsam80 Well-Known Member Dec 14, 2010 1,135 25 48 #7 ironsam80, Sep 14, 2023 The iaps problem has already solved in the last update Quoad likes this. Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,089 205 63 #8 Quoad, Sep 14, 2023 It’s a development of the previous one(s). All have had the same core engine, it’s been iterations and upgrades. A lot of it comes down to money management, but there are some nice light sim elements. Contracts for designers, engineers, and drivers. Improvements in… all three? over time? Development potential vs established old grunters. You can establish - or build - networks of suppliers, which I think is new. Lots more HQ upgrades. I think! I both QUITE like this and haven’t yet been bitten. The steps to get to, and through, each race are quite substantial. Lots of mini games. Perhaps the risk element hasn’t quite kicked in, or perhaps I’ve been playing it safe. I’ve just gone into season two, won £11m at the end of season one, which is a massive boost. I’m currently on my third attempt at pushing through to next season, as I need to navigate politics and driver retention / recruitment between seasons, and tbh I haven’t quite had the time to push through to a save point. Perhaps more accurately, I’m on a promise this eve and have upfucked a couple of points where I’ve wanted to go back and renegotiate, so have ragequit once and… I can’t remember on the other, probably packing figs for dinner or on the loo then distracted or sth. Yeah, there’s a lot of the same, I can’t say I’m gripped by the races yet (which are mostly pit strategy and calculating tyre wear %s) but my son is smitten and I have ended up deeply into the previous ones so. Oh shit I’ve just updated so that’ll bork the Interseason period a third time. Anyway. Promise beckons, have a good evening all! Bloodangel Well-Known Member Jan 19, 2011 1,819 43 48 Retail England #9 Bloodangel, Sep 14, 2023 thanks for the in depth info You could build and establish a network of suppliers in the online one if I remember. Global map and trade routes ect… on a promise lol… get to it!! Bloodangel Well-Known Member Jan 19, 2011 1,819 43 48 Retail England #10 Bloodangel, Sep 14, 2023 One thing that I’m hoping is improved in this one is the race incidents like crashes and failures. Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,089 205 63 #11 Quoad, Sep 15, 2023 Yes, the map of suppliers is in there. I've now won a couple of races through dirty pitting strategies, and obvs am now (in consequence) loving it. Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,089 205 63 #12 Quoad, Sep 16, 2023 Yeah ok I’m now playing too much! First three times in the foundational open wheel competition, two frankly superb development programme drivers, and I’m onto European open wheel. And mostly winning so far. It nails compulsion superbly. Yes I’ve just paid for a brake to be developed BUT there’s a race weekend in five days time and the brake won’t be completed for a week. So race through the weekend, then it’s into the next upgrade cycle, so it all begins again… just that nudge of one more race, one upgrade, one part… and oh shit it’s 0230 uk time. Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,089 205 63 #13 Quoad, Sep 16, 2023 I’m reminded of a feeling of dissatisfaction with MM. Of being stuck in a loop, rather than active and enjoying what I’m doing. And I’ve tried to work out what it is. There’s lots of little dopamine hits, but when it comes down to it, nothing really changes. The graphics of the tracks and, tbh, the details, aren’t relevant. They don’t appear to have much impact on gameplay. I’ve played - and won - the first two tiers. It looks like there may only be four? I expect a ramp up in difficulty - or to be more precise, to lose more without understanding why, until I’ve ground enough to rise through the rankings. The fundamental problem for me is that I’m just sitting like a lemon for most races. My drivers do the work. I have it on “triple speed up,” but even then, I’m watching disconnected blobs go round a loop. Whatever, it may be a bit longer or shorter. I’ve had one - one - race where rain made it interesting. A second with a rainy time trial lap. There’s lots of buttons, and sub screens, and stuff that should matter. But it doesn’t, really. There’s huge polish, but I find myself avoiding the races. Or not looking forward to them. Because they’re the dull bit. Which is the first time I’ve worked out why I’ve felt this on previous MMs. But there it is. Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,089 205 63 #14 Quoad, Sep 17, 2023 I’m going to delete. This is rotting my brain and the more I stare blankly and passively at a screen whilst my good AIs win yet again, the more i despair about existence and feel the deep futility of life. I’m going back to undead horde 2, which at least needs me to press buttons, and deleting this as soon as I’ve shown my 9yo (with his mum this w/e) just how much further along I am than him Side note, I was brought up in Guildford, home of the debs, which - as an experience - was equally blank, passive, and raddled by existential crises. I think that’s meant to be Guildford cathedral in the Guildford track, buggered if I can recognise the rest. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
