Your list so far is great! It's awesome to look at such a collection of historic game characters. Out of the list you posted, here's my opinion on the last few.

    Definitely yes:
    - B.J. Blazkowicz
    - Bomberman
    - Samus Aran

    Maybe:
    - Dirk the Daring
    - Rayman
    - Lara Croft

I also really like the Game and Watch guy idea, he's pretty epic. And if you wanted to do a Final Fantasy character, you could do a Chocobo, they're pretty widely recognized and associated with that game. Can't wait to see the final product!

    I mentioned Chocobo didn't I? Twice?

Anyway, for the final six, I would have:

-Chocobo (Something present in most of the games of one of the biggest franchises of all time)
-B.J. Blazcowicz (The first FPS character)
-Nurse/Pyramid Head of Silent Hill (Characters who represented so much, as well as being frightening, or at least in Silent Hill 2)
    -Samus Aran (Strong Female Character)
    -Lara Croft (Famous Female Character)
-Big Daddy (Probably the most well known enemy of this generation)

    Definately stay away from:

-Niko Bellic (Not important at all in the history of gaming, not even the character from the first GTA/crime sandbox)
-Marcus Fenix (Gears of War hasn't really added much to the progression of gaming)
