    ah, what about Rayman?

I've always hated him, but he must be important for the end of the '90s.

I have to consider all the games era.

The first three unofficial PSX mascots seem to be missing from this thread... which is a bit fail.

    Crash Bandicoot
    Spyro the Dragon
    Abe (Abe's Oddysee/Exodus)

    How about solid snake?

I don't know if you are looking for asian/anime/cartoon characters but snake is definitely one of the most well known gaming characters.

Sorry, but I quit playing video games when I was 12.
Now I'm back for learning what I've missed and this project is a part of this process.

I don't own a PSX. My last console is a Sega Saturn.
You can consider this a fail as well. :)

By the way, that's for those 3 characters. I'll add Spyro and Crash Bandicoot to my list.

Ah, that would be reasonable, but I can't consider this as a character.
While the Pong paddle is meant to be a tennis player (or am I wrong?), the tetris piece is just a tetris piece.

Anyway, I was thinking to add some "decorative" canvases that contains key elements of some games. A tetris piece would be perfect.

    Just an idea.

    Thanks.

    Thanks :)

Solid Snake is in my list.
Asian anime cartoon style are my favourite "puppets", but that shouldn't be the point of my project. Any kind of historical game character would be fine. :)

By the way, I'm getting closer to have a list of 25 characters.
I'm pretty satisfied, though I feel I'm missing something important. :)

I'll take some more time, but thanks again to all of you.

Bowser, Yoshi, Peach Toadstool, Luigi, Wario... I don't really know how to handle them.

They're very important and I feel like to add all of them to my list, but then it's too Mario centric. I have to find a solution, but maybe it's better to keep only Mario out of them.

For a while I was thinking to create a Mario them artworks, but then I thought history of video games would be better.

Nobody has mentioned Lara Croft??!!
In terms of video game history, she is the the most important female character (next to Ms. Pac Man, of course.)

And yes, you should start with the Pong paddle! You just need to figure out a way to make it recognizable...maybe by including the ball...so it doesn't just look like a white line.

Hmmm, yeah I see what you mean about Tetris. It's such an important game though.

Also what about Samus or a Metroid itself, or Castlevania characters? I think Megaman is a definite yes, too, and agree about keeping just Mario.
