On the mobile app, you get a list of new games down the right hand side, and I saw a foreign game for £699.99. Surely this must be the most expensive app ever? If you don't know what app I mean, on the mobile app, on the main page down the right hand side.
I think there once was an app called I am rich which sold for that. http://most-expensive.net/iphone-app Yep, here it is.
Omg 8 people bought the 999$ app.. What an easy 8grand that prick made! Or..hang on apple takes 30% so around 5k still nothing to sneeze at.. But what a scheming minion. I've seen some farming app for 999$ before.. It goes down on app zap alot.. Can't imagine why anyone would spend $1000 on an app.. You could buy a whole brand new latest iPhone for that price, and pay to have it jailbroken and have the app installed all for less than the app cost. Piracy is ugly, but when an app is that price.. It's almost justifyable..I am so against piracy because most games and apps are accessible to everyone only charging a couple bucks.. But when people charge hundreds.. It really is condoning piracy because who would pay that.. But then again who would want the app anyway? It's usually always gimmicky crap that people want to try it out of curiosity not because of actual genuine interest.
The most expensive are so called F2P games - especially those from Gameloft, Spacetime studios and Glu.
Apparently, the people who downloaded the app were complaining that they thought it was a joke and were surprised when they realized that it wasn't. Anyway there are still more 999.99$ apps out there: - VIP Black - Barmax (CA, NY, UBE)
Spacetime Studios's games are freemium, with iAP. You don't need to spend a dime on their games but it often helps out!
Some kid bought smurfberries worth over 5000 because she/he didn't know they costed. Smurf Village is a biatch.
I could see the $999 app used to be a cover to enter into a prostitution ring. You would gain membership by being referred and buying this app, and if it were ever audited by anyone, it would just be a legal app purchase. Yeah, been watching that zumba prostitution stuff lately, but that is what I could see this app used for.
I think that has actually happened numerous times, Apple got quite a lot of bad press in UK newspapers about it and I think rightly so. Targeting games at children with expensive IAP purchases in my opinion is evil and basicly a scam.
