The gun Room picture definitely shows a planet with 3D models of what looks to be mountains and a river. Could they be getting the planets modelled in 3D to be able to fly seamlessly down to the planet surface? Fingers crossed!
I don't think you pilot your ship to be able to fly down seamlessly to a planet surface. Getting from planet to planet will be a cut scene which will occasionally be interrupted by random encounters where you will have to fight or flee. It would be awesome if you could, but I don't see how a game primarily designed for mobile devices would be able to achieve such a feat.
Yeah the way its set up is that your drop-pod comes down onto a planet, you can look around inside and see out the porthole as you are coming down. the way the terrain is made its like a metroidvania with a series of connected spaces that are either caves, or open fields, or forests, or deserts. Inside caves you will find resources in the form of mineral formations that you can shoot to collect. You can go under water as well! There is no multi tool - you get your weapons as you progress through the storyline - but you start with the main pistol, and every weapon can be upgraded. You scan creatures and plants to sell in space to upgrade your ship. So far we have the standard metroid-like weapons - gun, bombs, rockets, a charge beam type gun, and we'll also have a grappling bow that will get you to higher places and also work in conjuction with story puzzles.
Do you plan to simulate the effect of the pod breaking through the atmosphere with flames/heat distorting vision through the port holes? Maybe a fog clears and then you can see out of the port holes. I like the swimming and hook idea. Can you use the hook under water? Eg. The current is too strong so the hook grapples to a point to pull you through. Thanks
We have a list of stuff a mile long right now to get through to finish the game within a few months so we'll see
No worries, I have an iPad 3 too. Even though that one is also old, it has 1GB RAM and a processor nearer to the one in the iPhone 5. Maybe it'll work in it if you finally get to support iOS 7.1.2. Nonetheless, as I said, I'll seriously think about buying an SE if this one doesn't work on either of my devices due to power and/or iOS version.
. Hey Devs I've been watching the games development for awhile now and I was just curious if you were going to implement anything special graphically or anything at all to higher end ios devices like the iPhone 6s and ipad air 2 and up? I have an iPad pro myself so I just really wanted to know if you could or was thinking of adding anything special for the newer IOS devices?
Well he looks rather nasty. Must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed today. That is of course, if he sleeps in a bed. Maybe he climbs large trees or burrows under the ground. You disturbed his ugly rest and now he plans on playing patty-cake with your face. I really like the sky and lighting. It must look pretty cool with the clouds moving, huh?
Wow! Those enemies look great, and this game looks super fun. Really looking forward to this. Enjoyed some other CM games.
#screenshotsaturday and I posted a short vid on Twitter of an underwater cave: https://twitter.com/CM_Games/status/774580880807428096
Hey I love space exploration games and this looks awesome! I just have a few questions: -How much will it cost -When is it coming out! -Are the planets massive -Is there and infinite or finite amount of planets u can land on. Thanks so much this game is looking amazing!
Hey it will probably be around 4.99 and coming in very late Fall. The planet set up is almost more like a dungeon crawler where you have big areas connected to small areas, but some are huge and very open. Its really inspired by Metroid Prime. Some planets are bigger than others. The story levels are hand crafted (We have a level designer that worked for Treyarch on COD Black Ops 2 and Zombies) and there are tons of procedural planets to explore, as well as abandoned space stations. We're in the process of working on the story and adding more content and features right now!
We don't know yet for sure because we still have a ton left to do. I will keep you all posted though.
