If you're unhappy, ask for a refund. For a dev, it's more valuable to have happy customers than earn a few bucks more.
Dont think people should ask for a refund if they think its too short. Ask for a refund if it doesnt work on your device etc. I dont go into a cinema and then come out after disliking the film asking for my money back. With youtube videos, user reviews etc you can get an idea about the game. Again the games only a few dollars, well worth it
its one of the few games from store that gives you this quality time, even if its short these kind of devs need and deserve our support. good luck and waiting more quality levels and content
On a side note, I can't understand why people have "surprises" with aspects of some games. You have more information than ever: trailers, previews, playthroughs... If you're unsure about a game, wait a bit, gather more info and then make your decision. Heck! You can even ask the devs if you're unsure! We were chatting with Ken and Dan on TA's Twitch stream and people asked about how long the game was. If you buy a game "blind", it's just because you didn't bother to get any info about it. Just my 2 cents (and not trying to offend anyone, just a general comment based on several incidents with several games).
Haha jumping the gun here a bit, hopefully mobile players love the game and we can explore it further. We want to try and bring it to other platforms as well as create more levels for the original first I think.
As I said before I don't know how well the normal public will take this. Even though I bought the game I would suggest dropping the price immediately so you won't get crappy reviews in the App Store. I am probably shooting myself in the foot for saying that. The crazy thing is I haven't even started playing the game yet, only the intro because I am scared of beating it too quickly. I don't think this has ever happened to me before. I'm crazy for having an opinion for a game that I have not even played yet but this game seems so magical. Maybe I'm asking for too much?
But the dev cant win. If he drops the price now then 'early adopters' will moan about that (i wont i must admit). 'Some' indie devs might need a higher price like this to 'survive', imagine working on this for say 9 months or more and then you sell it for 99c (apple takes its cut) and you dont make much ? Catch 22. I want the dev to do well, the price isnt high at all, it stands out in the app store right now high above all the crap. Think the price should stay for sure
I know, but as a dev, if someone really disliked the game I've made, I'd prefer to give him/her their money back than have them bitching around... But yeah, you should know what you're buying before hitting the "purchase" button.
if you compare this game with tengami(also kind of 2short) and you look at tengami reviews werent bad at all if i remember ppl enjoy it even it was short
I agree with everything you said. I'm just afraid of a huge wave of bad reviews. Maybe the dev should add something in the description that more content will come? I know that's a commitment but the average ios user expects to pay a buck for hours of entertainment. I know it's crazy. I just have a bad feeling. I'm sure this game will be featured in the AppStore and will make it to the charts but how long will it stay there? That's the question.
i think all the negative thoughts shouldnt be here tengami & the room two are 2examples of quality short games that didnt recieved low ratings and reviews, why this one should? gl@devs have a nice day
I seriously don't get people complaining about a game being too short. Metroid Fusion is AWESOME and it only lasts around 2 hours!
Even though it is short, a masterpiece iy is at the same time. Art, story, puzzle and fun. Those are the elements that i can hardly see at the same game nowadays.... Price could be cut be 1/3 though... Highly recommended
Why? Why should it be cut? You use words like "masterpiece" and "highly recommended" to describe it and yet 3,99 is too much to ask for? I kind of really miss the days when high quality games like this cost 60 to 100 dollars and no one bitched about that. I really, really hate what the AppStore has done to the appreciation of game value.
I much much prefer quality over quantity, I'd rather have less high quality levels than dozens of half assed designed levels that are there just to bulk it out. Any purchase nowadays, not just game wise, is often based on the amount you get for your money and I see people in supermarkets etc switching to buy something else because it's buy on get one free, without realising they are not saving anything because the "free" stuff ends up wasted and they'd have been better off buying a better quality smaller amount. I took part in the initial stage of beta testing and the amount of love and care that has gone in to this was massive then, it's been enhanced much more since and it would be criminal in my opinion to charge 69p for this, I'll be picking this up regardless of length later today when I'm in wifi area as I see it as an investment, I can see this being one of those titles that will just increase in content as time goes on, there's more chance if that happening if people pay what the game is actually worth.
Dont know about battery sonsumption but battery consumption is pretty normal. Epoch2. is more of a drainer than this.
So I was on the fence, and finally succumbed to the wave of positive reviews. All I can say is I am glad I did. This is a truly beautiful experience, worth absolutely every penny. I know this is a deep thing to say about a game, but it makes you realize that not everything is always as it looks... a small change of perspective and your world can be a different place! I am loving this!!! Thank you so much USTWO, absolutely brilliant!
