If the dveloper of Monument Valley is lurking, please unlock all levels by default when you release the expansion IAP levels. Games that are more than 100MB don't stay on my iDevice for long. So Monument Valley will be deleted to make space. It would be work to have to play through again to get to the new stuff.
More than 100 meg ? Wow, i'm the same but with 1 gig games ! I wouldnt unlock all the levels, if a lot of people are saying the initial games too short i dont think it'll help by unlocking all earlier levels automatically
??? Why should they alter their game's level progression to suit you? That seems kind of selfish And isn't the game already bigger than 100mb?
What are you talking about? I just wanted the original ten levels to stay unlocked so I don't have to play through them again. For the sake of their new players they can just have a new player/old player toggle so the new guy can play through in sequence and the rest can just jump straight into level 11 or replay any of the previous ten levels. The end effect would be as if my savegame file had been saved, which is not the case as iCloud not implemented...
So according to the unwritten laws of App Store success, how long till we see shitty clones of Monument Valley and FTL? Can't wait for Monolith Canyon and IBS: Interstellar Battle Simulator
Thats the thing. I cant stand the clones of 'that game involving a bird' but why cant we have clones of decent games !!
I think it's too much trouble for cloners to bother with. They copy simple designs like flappy bird and Threes because it's quick. But someone trying to make a quick buck is not going to go through the work it takes to make a game like this work. But who knows...?
Hope not. I'm just pissed about the whole cloning controversy going on, especially with Threes. PG just reported that there are 16 new 2048 clones a day. Such a damn shame, makes me wish the App Store was stricter. You don't see rampant cloning like that on Steam and other digital stores But yeah Monument Valley would be a difficult game to clone, so that works in its favor
Wonderful game! I remember playing isometric games in the 8 and 16 bit days, and sometimes you'd die because you'd misread where in space you or the enemy bullet was or whatever (Zaxxon etc). Never thought someone would turn that into the principal mechanic of the game! Has anything like this been done before (I just joined the thread, apologies if this has been asked already). One of those games that seems to be about gaming itself, no? Or is that just me?
Good point. I hadn't thought about it being a commentary on that. But there are even some iOS games I can think of that drove me crazy bc of the camera placement and not being able to judge the location of a platform I needed to jump to.
Would I recommend this as a game? No because there is not enough content for the price and no real challenge either. Would I recommend this as an experience, for its art and design, Yes! That to me at least sums this app up
Better than I had hoped. Absolutely brilliant! This jumps to my favorites list no issues. Limbo, Badlands, Monument Valley, Hero of Many & Unmechanical. Best ipad games hands down. Great job!!!!
Am I the only one that thinks this game story is nicely closed and has no place for more levels? I'd rather have Monument Valley 2 than adding anything to this game.
The art and level design of this game are top teir. I'd be hard pressed to think of a game that outshines it in these aspects. Is it short? Yes. Is it hard? No. It is an amazing experience that any true fan of video games,as a whole, should not miss. I can't tell you how many games I've bought and barely played, or deleted almost immediately, from the AppStore. I've beaten this game twice. It'll stay on my devices for a long time. I'll occasionally jump back and play some levels. It's a great game. Thanks to the Frost for the high recommendations for this.
New levels don't necessarily have to be tacked on to the end of the current game though. I'm quite sure the devs have thought this through, and will extend the experience in an elegant way.
