It means someone didn't want to bother using real language to describe something they found average or bland.

Brilliant game. Loved the presentation. For those iffy on the length vs cost, well that's a relative thing. I pay more for a sandwich that lasts 10 minutes, or a movie that lasts about the same time, depending on how fast you are. My four bucks got me an hour long immersive experience, and I couldn't be happier about it.

Meh, I don't feel like explaining.

Couldn't agree more. The first time a platform made an impossible connecting, my brain exploded. Then again when I was first able to spin the world.

Make Fez a priority in your life then. It is similarly incredible in its space-bending and vibrant, beautiful artwork.

Great job on Monument Valley, ustwo. I played through the beta twice (the version with all 10 levels). The changes you have made throughout were all thoughtful and all improvements.

My two-year-old woke up as I was finishing level IX and sat in my lap to "help me" with level X. She was absolutely enchanted and insisted on playing more when it was done. She completed levels I–III with my verbal direction (and perhaps a few finger points). It's great to finally share a game we both love; it makes me excited for the many years of daddy-daughter gaming ahead. Thank you!

The first time I rotated a column in Fez only to realize that it was just the side of an entire building...mind blown.

But Monument Valley does that every level :D

Agree! Anyone who fell in love with Monument Valley with access to FEZ need to make it a priority in his life. Its very similar to MV but different at the same time (and longer ;)). Both complement each other perfectly and are masterpieces. Oh, and FEZ may never come to iOS.

Still, it's a platformer with some precision and timing required. I'm sure it will work on iOS (see games like League of Evil), but the physical controls of a Playstation, Xbox, or computer would be best for players who have that option.

I just couldn't take the music, and I found the art direction cold and uninspiring; the combination of the two killed any enhusiasm I would have had for it. Speedruns do it for me on that one, I'm a little embarassed to say, just to grok the puzzle prowess exhibited <:-/

Monument Valley's sound design initially struck me as a little too strident but its cohesion helped throw its elements into harmonious relief and coalesce a comfortable zone for the experience (though the crows could still be toned down a tad, IMO, even though they're _supposed_ to be menacing...?).

Monument Valley's art direction is much more refined than Fez's, more organic, less pixellated, more three-dimensional, more relatable, and IMO just plain prettier.

For probably the majority of puzzle fans, Fez is ace, and I don't dispute them their opinion, but I did want to hilight why Monument Valley is even more full of win, in ways decisive to some of us, and likelier IMO to appeal to an even broader audience because of it—speaking strictly qualitatively, here.

Educational, entertaining, family-enhancing. That's what makes me proud of gaming.

I have to buy this. First thing tomorrow! It looks too gorgeous to pass it up, probably the most beautiful game I've ever seen running on a phone.
And asking a few dollars for quality content seems very reasonable to me.

What a great experience this was. Short yes, but I feel so happy I took the chance. Fez meets Journey meets The Room. Not bad for one game.

I know the devs will (deservedly) rest on their laurels for a bit, but is there any info on whether there will be updates/explanations at some point down the line?

Well, this is what the devs posted, right here in this thread - "We'd love to make more chapters to release a couple of months after release and we will do as long as the game doesn't bomb"

Yes, they hope to have new content in about three months and want to make more challenging content as well

Absolutely outstanding game, everything about it is perfect (including the length). With most great games its possible to pick out small flaws which could have been improved, but this is one of the few games where I genuinely cant think of a single thing that could have been done better.

I dont understand why the developers chose to release it on the same week as FTL and Hearthstone because it may not get the coverage it deserves, but this is absolutely GOTY quality.

I just about completed this (few minutes here and there) and of course I'm loving it. I was an original beta tester and knew then that I'd buy it when it came out. I am comfortable with the length and cost vs entertainment value. I really do wish there were more than 10 levels though.
