And there we have it. Prices will not lower except for some occasional 'special offers'. I'd been holding out hoping the pricing would be fixed but clearly the model is working for Adult Swim perfectly as it is now. Clearly time to move on then. Shame.
It won't last long, I deleted the game a few days ago. New Hearthstone expansion is coming soon anyway.
Am I the only one not bothered by the IAP prices? Yes, they are very high but I'm not planning on buying my way up the leaderboards anyways. I'm here to play the game and buy my cards packs organically with coins earned in game. I haven't paid anything and have a really solid deck of golds, silvers and bronze cards. My monster is at level 22 and my city is somewhere around level 15. Just by playing. It's really not that difficult to win games if you slow down a little and think about your deck. Would I prefer if it was a premium app? Yes, of course. I think I'm doing just fine though playing the game [adult swim] chose to release.
I still play it for the amazing graphics, but I certainly wish it wasn't so obviously Pay 2 win. There should be a slight chance of getting a gold from opening the regular packs. If there is, I haven't received one yet. It'll stay put for now, but like I said, not going to spend any $ for it. I get diamonds from opening the videos while I'm watching TV, so maybe I'll open a ten pack premium in 30-40 days... hah!
Deleted. The IAP is pay-to-win, and way overpriced. Plus the game just isn't very good in my opinion. Just update the original MAMC for widescreen, I'd actually pay for that.
Just had a really weird XP bug that went totally in my favour. (I think!) Logged in, checked my battle reports, had a single win for 300XP. Accepted it...and my city's level jumped from 23 to - wait for it - 43. WTF!, thought I. Played a game and lost. Got 20XP...and my monster's level jumped from 26 to 32. Double WTF!, thought I. Logged out and back in, the levels are still the same but the excess XP that was in the ring around both city and monster has gone. Played a game, won, and the ring didn't fill *at all* on my monster. So it looks like the game now thinks my monster level is 32, but my XP is still down at the 26 mark. Or something. Will know more after a few more games I guess! Random hey?
To the dev, do you plan on having other uses for gold? I've already got all monsters and built up my decks with silver cards.
They should give a minor chance for gold cards, and always give a gold card if you're spending diamonds. The game is starting to become quite a chore.
In that instance I'd suggest buying card packs with the intent of feeding them to your monsters to level them up.
Everyone complains that this game is "Pay 2 Win". But if you actually play the game for more than 5 minutes and stop to consider it, then that is not the case. You can get free gems from watching videos (ads). I do it all the time. I play a match, then watch a vid. Then I play another match and watch another vid. You also get gems as a reward for placing in the weekly tournaments. You CAN save up enough gems for the diamond card packs. Anyone can do it. Yes, it takes more than a week. Is it "Pay 2 Win" because they don't start you off with the best cards in the game? Or is it "Pay 2 Win" if you have to level up and earn better cards? Also, and this is very important, players with powerful cards will be filtered into higher tiers. The tournament is set up that way, so that high level players won't be crushing rookie players. There's a good game here. And when you make progress, it will be actual progress. If people stop whining and give it a chance, I think they will find an enjoyable experience.
I am strangely addicted to this, but there seriously needs to be more variety. Having one tournament that lasts the whole week as the *only* method of playing is a bit restrictive imo. They could make some sort of story mode where your monster travels around the world taking on progressively harder cities, for example. And there really needs to be something to spend coins on other than packs that only give silvers. Howabout being able to save up a certain amount to guarantee a gold, something like that? It's a good game, but it could be great.
Yeah, I'm done for now unless they rethink the game and reward structure. Put in quite a bit of effort and just finished top 250 in Mascot League, got 4 cards...3 silvers and 1 bronze. Not getting a gold after a week's worth of play feels a bit crap. Progression doesn't feel solid enough; I need to fight through another full week before even getting a *chance* at another gold. It's just not enticing. There's a lot of potential here, but it's lacking in some really key areas. I'll keep the game installed and see what happens in future updates but I won't be playing again before then.
Goofy, colorful graphics and great animation, as only as adult swim does I really love the sound effects, and the game is really very different experience from Monsters Ate My Condo, the game feel sometime unbalance with IAP because, getting powerful cards is difficult without paying up
Great graphics, animation and production value. Terrible variety of card packs, cards, IS too expensive and just not worth i The game has some good potential, but it very repetitive The adult swim goofy design is awesome
In case folks are interested - This weekend card packs are half off! If you've updated the game to the latest store version (crucial step here) you will see the sale. There are more updates to come - there's a v1.1 content update coming soon with new cards, grand tournaments, and more.
Lots of game improvements. Am now in the Elite league and there's a Halloween event, but it looks like the Tier 2 rewards are better than the Tier 1 rewards? The Pumpkin seems to do more damage, for example.
Here's a piece of helpful info for anyone who may not know already. You can now purchase a different card every day using gold coins. In order to tell if it is a monster card or a city card just check to see where the damage is located on the card. If it's on the top then it is a monster card. If it's on the bottom then it's a city card. I was unaware and purchased the first card yesterday thinking it was a monster card but it was a city card. As far as I can tell there is no other indication to tell if it's monster or city.
What is the prize in the elite league? I am in the leafue before and I an considering into go to another league or to hold on. I am thinking in let my other monster in lvl 19 Then buff my primary monster to a high level. When I got to the uphank then I lvl all other monster to 20. In my league the prizes are two golds and only for 25. This is unfair because the leagur before was the same but for the 50 first. To the dev. Mascot league two gold for the first 50 Monster league 1 gold and 1 diamond instead 2 gold. Or increase the people that can earn the prize.. Like the 50 first. What is the prize for the next leagues? Other strategy to discuss is to let the city with weak cards. Because you can stay more time ib the weak leagues to lvl up.
