Couldn't agree more. I've played this a bit and really enjoy it but I've not spent a penny on IAP's simply because they're stupidly overpriced. I've spent a small fortune on Hearthstone, on the other hand, because they just got the enjoyment/greed balance right. I'd love to hear from the devs whether there's any internal discussion or potential intent to adjust the pricing model. If so I'll hang on in there but if not I may as well just delete the game and move on because I'll never purchase cards at the current price and will therefore soon hit a paywall that'll prevent me progressing much further.
It annoys me a lot as I actually really enjoy the game. If they lowered the price then I would be prepared to pump some money into this one.
Yup. Spending money on the game isn't the issue provided we feel we are getting reasonable return on our money. More fool them I guess.
Last 30-something minutes of the very first tournament. Once this one is over, I believe that the tiers will be more structured when it gets re-seeded. The teams who've purchased cards should be in higher tiers, while all the F2P guys should be in the lower tiers. The grinders would be middle of the road. This should go on for the next 2-3 weeks of tourneys until it all balances out.
Just restart your game. Should be in the mail. Also, handy info. In case you didn't know, when you're picking a city to attack, the color of the city indicates the highest card in their city's deck. Bronze Silver Gold Diamond - Looks like silver. But shiny. Hope you use this to try and avoid crazy matchups.
This game is a lot of fun. Like seriously. I think the balance issues were because of there not being enough players with the actual game but now it's pretty even.
That is true. And all the players who paid $$$ for their cards and the F2P players all started off in the same league. Now, everyone is segregated into their respective leagues based on their strength. All the multiple-diamond players are grouped together in their own little group at the higher league.
Ok, I have got over 6000 coins saved, should I buy a few of the lol packs which guarantees a silver card or should I buy another monster? Is the only benefit of having another monster more energy to play the game? because that doesn't really bother me as the energy stops me from playing for hours lol.
I wasn't being serious about hearthstone. No offense to you or anybody else who like it. I was implying I hate card games and I like this one, that's all.
I think another monster isn't a bad investment. They're great for getting energy; you just need to feed it some bronze cards and it'll level up, refilling your energy. Quite essential to get a good ranking during the pivotal hours. As for the game, great graphics, but just too much pay to win. Quite disappointing after Monsters Ate My Condo. As others have said, this game probably won't last long.
After investing a good amount of time into this game and giving it a chance (despite the expensive IAP) the game is repetitive and gets boring quite fast. There just isn't really many cards or at least it doesn't feel like there are as they are all similar and there just isn't enough variety. There isn't enough game modes either and I can't see how many games I have won and lost. To stay at the top of the leaderboard to get the gold card reward you need to grind so much and basically not go to sleep or else you can guarantee people in different time zones will attack you and when you log back on you will have dropped right down. It's a shame As I like the design and with some tweaking and a reasonable prices model this could be a good game.
Great graphics, animation and production value. Terrible variety of card packs, cards, and wayyyy overpriced IAP. The game has some good potential, but it will fail if it's not revised soon.
BUT - in Monsters Ate My Metropolis your city gains experience by being attacked by other cities. There's benefit to going up and down the leaderboards to get that XP. You don't have to play constantly since you know you already know you're going to slide down the leaderboard as other players attack your city (trying to gain XP themselves). Your position matters on Sunday when the tournament ends and the prizes are handed out - the rest of the time you could be gaining experience which'll help your city deck get better and better. And, you probably don't want to be TOO far down the leaderboard so you can place well.
I can understand the frustration with the pricing. We're going to be adding more content and cards as we go and there will be an opportunity to get discounts on the currency coming up in the future.
I don't understand how people with cities lower level than I am are hitting for 1,500+ per card, while I'm at 200-300. I'm level 24 and just had this scenario with a level 19 city. I've encountered this since day one or two. Perhaps they're buying a lot of cards.
Yeap, they are. Don't sweat it. Right now I don't find it worth spending a cent on the game. Those cards are good, sure, but not that great, just so the whales keep on paying and paying. There are 1,000+ damage cards in the game. Don't bother trying to outspend the guys. And a PSA - using diamonds on just one card might still net you a silver. I tried it and I received a lame silver. The sheer MONEY GRAB is strong in this one.
Yeah, the game is too pricey at the moment. I wouldn't mind spending some money if prices are adjusted. Also ended up with a bad card when using 250 gems. Pretty disappointing.
