Cool. And it looks like we're in the US store too! So exciting. I feel terrible for all the other indies who launched today, didn't get featured, and won't even get their time atop the new releases list. That's just unbelievable.
I have a question, what does your pet happiness mean? And also what's the worst that can happen if its miserable. I'm only asking because I'm really enjoying the game for the building, training and fighting but I don't like having to come back to make sure it's fed and happy all the time even when I've got no time to play. For instance this morning I just had to spend the money I earned yesterday just to keep all three pets happy. Anyway here's my new water monster I made last night. I've got three now fire, water and earth. Edit. One more thing are the matches online real time as in am I matched up with someone who's there, because there might need to be something changed about the way you can switch you monsters in and out without restriction, I just had a match where they brought out a water monster so I switched to earth so they switched to fire so I switched to water etc and it went on like this until they stopped switching and I beat them
Sweet triple monster! If you monster has blue or orange happiness levels, it will sometimes disobey your command in battle. You'll know if this happens…it will bow down, make a sad sound, and an unhappy face will appear on top. It's a tough balance making sure that players who play daily have enough to do (quick happiness drain) and keeping players who play less frequently from having to work hard each time to re-happy (slow happiness drain). We'll definitely be keeping an open ear to hear how people feel about it in the long term. Hah, sounds like you met someone as determined as you were to have a favorable matchup . I guess we could put a cap on the number of times you can switch… although I personally think those battles of will are pretty funny! On an unrelated note…wow…in 24 hours players have created over 50,000 monsters from every single country with an app store. I've been sifting through them, and it's absolutely unbelievable to see all of these unique creations, and it's making me think we should have a Featured Monster of the Week section in the game where we should off our favorite monster from each week along with the name and the player who created it. There are too many great ones to remember, but I uploaded a few here. I only thought to start taking screenshots at the end, unfortunately. You might run into some of these in the game since we included all of these (and all of the TA monsters as well) in the first batch of curated monsters. Many thousands more to come! (All of these show up as plant monsters in our monster loader, but the actual ones are different types) (hard to see what's going on, but there's an eye in the center of that cavern…thought that was cool) This one is aptly named "Bulldozer"
It's really cool to see what's other people make as It always makes me think "I never thought of that" And about the switching cap sure a battle of will is fine I was thinking more something like being forced to at least attack once before switching again. A featured monster section would be cool, that's one of the reasons I like online just to see what people have made. Maybe a +/- button to vote on monsters? (I've fought against that monster in the fifth pic down that looks like a dinosaur) I know it should be obvious by now after years of Pokemon and things but is there somewhere you could post the strengths/weakness for the different elements. Last thing for now, I notice we can put anything on to a half block, is this something that might change? Edit: how many dungeons are there to go through? I'm up to chapter 4. And here's my new water trio, I think they look much better with hats
Totally agreed! The half block stacking won't change since our engine is based on cubic positioning. The number of chapters is a secret . Elemental strengths are visible when you're choosing an egg, so you can enter than menu and tap on the different eggs to se the advantages/disadvantages. Those look AMAZING with hats. Might be my favorite monster so far.
Really enjoying this game so far...very well done guys. Quick question. How do you construct monster parts in the vertical axis? I can only seem to lay them out in the floor-level horizontal plane and can't put them on top of each other. What am I doing wrong?
You can only stack things on top of a full square block not on top of half blocks or other things. You can make a stack of blocks then remove the bottom one or two to make it look like it's floating.
Hang on a minute here!!! I just paid the 600coins to make the grid bigger but you can alter your origonal monsters core so what was the point of paying to make the grid bigger? I've already got three monsters made so now if I want to make a new bigger one I have to wait until I can't unlock a new slot and start with a new guy from level one or delete an existing monster and start again too?? Am I wrong here? Because if I'm not then that's a bit poop, I want to make my origonal monster bigger and better but keep his level I thought that's what I was going to be able to do. It's not giving me much incentive to make the grid bigger again? Edit. Also just had this happen as you might be able to see in the pic I had two stamina left but when I tried to go online which requires two stamina it says I don't have enough. ?
You're right, internally it's using 3 stamina but the UI says 2. Fixed, that'll get submitted as soon as the pending version gets approved. The idea behind the core locking was that you'd be encouraged to create new monsters with your new equipment and larger grids. People have been against that, so we're changing that in the next update. You'll be able to alter the core freely.
Thanks it's good to know it'll be fixed in an update, out didn't really make sense to keep making new monsters and starting from level 1 again when you could keep building up the strength of your main monster or monsters.
Great job to the developers on an innovative and fun game. I was searching for a few tips on the gameplay and stumbled across this thread. Cool to see what others are doing and learn a bit more. I like that triple monster - what a neat idea I never would have thought of. Also, because of the Developer's engagement with their customers/community in this thread, as well as the fact that you CAN play the game without seeming like I'm being forced to buy IAPs - I bought $10 worth of coins. And will probably buy some more upgrades. Well done guys. Now go build some more campaign chapters!! Ha ha. Looking forward to the next update. Attached is a pic of one of my monsters - I call him Rocklobster. LOL.
