Yeah, I'm pretty sure they explained camera control in beginner training quests. And if anyone doesn't know yet, there's a shelf near your bed that has plenty useful info, you can also change your inner clothes and hairstyles/hair color there.
Probably the worst in game chat I've ever seen in my life. I guess there wasn't any other way to implement it except this web based chat.
hi there Annii. Am I right in saying you can use an xbox controller? If that is the case I would recommend getting yourself an mfi controller with twin axis similarity to the xbox controller to play Monster Hunter. As far as other games with the mfi controller the gaming world is your oyster as a ton of them support the mfi set up. I would imagine MH would be next to impossible to play with one hand. If you want any other advice just give me a pm.
Anyone willing to describe how weapon durability works? Seems like I started the game, went on my first quest, shot about three moose looking beasts and my weapon durability went to crap. I'm using the bow machine gun knife looking thing.
It's sharpness, not durabillity. Use a whetstone to sharpen your gunlance again. Firing bullets and using wyvern abillity will dramatically reduce your sharpness. Hope that helps!
Okay, so I bought this game a long time ago on my PSP, and I eventually downloaded it on my PS Vita. I don't carry my Vita around a lot, and I never came close to beating the game (on my PSP or Vita). Is this game worth getting again for iOS? I have an iPhone 5. Thanks! Edit: Should I get this or Dragon Quest VIII? I'm going on an International Flight soon, and I'm looking for a good game to keep me occupied. I'm interested in both games.
dragon quest 8 is pretty easier to get into then this but they are both pretty deep games. I say get dragon quest
Hi all, I have a question for those of you using touch controls. I'm on a 4S so that's my only option. I went through all the weapon tutorials. I found I absolutely can't seem to use the GS at all, and I've been having some trouble with the hammer, which was my favorite in MH Tri. I've started getting the hang of dual swords, long sword, and bows, but I heard they fall off in damage pretty quickly. Any success stories with a particular weapon using touch controls?
I barely have any problems with touch control with the hammer. GS imo is a rather advanced weapon that requires you to know the timing of monster attack very well, since it's sluggish. As far as weapons go, their average dps is basically the same. Dual swords and Sword and shields have low raw damage, but makes it up with fast attack speed, great for elemental or status attacks. Long sword is in the middle line between hammer and small swords, but if you can ramp up the spirit gauge to maximum at white/purple sharpness, you're attack is full of hurt. I'm not sure how Bow is in MHFU but I would guess that it is similar to small swords, lower raw with usage for status effects while being quite safe.
^As far as bows are concerned, they are generally mid tier in damage, but are pretty safe. However, one exception is the fully ugraded Akantor Bow which is pretty overpowered.
Am I crazy or is the difficulty curve of this game extremely high? I've tried two of the 1 star quests and was completely smashed on both. First was Grimdore, second was Bulldore. Am I missing something or should I be spending hours in the training hut? I figured I could jump right and at least so some of the noob quests but apparently that isn't happening.
I'm enjoying both right now. And yeah, DQ8 is way easier to get into. It also does not heat up your phone nearly as much or drain your battery at all compared to MHFU. So, for a long trip, I'd recommend DQ8. My wife and I just took a trip and that's the game I played during the trip. It's easy to save in towns and quick save anywhere else.
You're not crazy. I would suggest deciding a weapon of choice for now and do the training for it so you can get to know the combo and such. Once you start getting the hang of things, the game becomes infinitely more rewarding.
Get quests from the village elder. She's the old lady in the field just past the item shop. You're trying to do guild quests, which are meant for more experienced players.
Just a random comment (addressing something brought up many pages back) but it's pretty normal to not have new gear for a while. In fact, it took me a while to realize I needed to upgrade my weapons because there weren't that many in the shop. I think when I made my first armor I was nearly 3 hours in. I had to grind for some items and at that time, I was learning how to fight. I'm waaaay better and I'm a pretty decent fighter now but back then taught me how to fight. If you go back to the early pages I was complaining about killing those gorilla guys (a regular standard enemy) because they'd take me 5 minutes or longer each because they danced around. Granted I still miss sometimes when I attack now but I can kill them quite easily (and I have a better weapon ) So keep at it of course. I think the hardest parts of the game are in the beginning and the very end. Beginning is when you don't know what to do, and the end where you fight the super strong bosses only made for the professionals.
Ok. Found it. But that only seems to work on PC and not mac. There is a mac version of iFunbox but it doesnt seem to have the same functionality.
