People are working on an English patch as we speak... If you're Jailbroken they are alternatives that work flawlessly so you can play it today, fully translated!! I feel like I'm starting to spam now... So I'll mention it no more!!
Yes, if you're jailbroken you can install the PPSSPP emulator, iPhone 4 and above (iPhone4S and above for better performance with MHFU). With this emulator you can play the official English translated Monster Hunter Portable 2ndG, named Monster Hunter Freedom Unite in the West. Coupled with the cydia app Fullforce, you can play with a DualShock3 controller or PlayStation4 controller (turn off button overlay) The UI is also better on the ppsspp version IMO, purely because there is more of the screen viewable. The items menu which is displayed (kinda) in the bottom center of the screen on the ios version, is displayed on the bottom right of the screen in the ppsspp version. Also all the action buttons for with ios version are not viewable on the ppsspp version, giving you even more screen estate. This is what I was talking about when I mentioned people (well person) are working on a English patch for the ios version. This is only one guy and he is managing to achieve this by taking parts of the original MHFU on the psp and adding them to the ios version. Oh lol. Already know all that. played it on ppsspp for a while but i enjoy it with people more so i got bored of it. I already got quests showing but when it comes to items, idk what i need. I'll just wait for vuze's translation. I wish it was already released earlier. Most people just want the item translation / menu. Everything else like story doesn't really matter. Thankful for vuze's work tho.
That part about the IAP is interesting. I wouldn't have any problems with iOS-exclusive quest packs with new monsters and the like being sold as IAP in the future. More reasons to buy the game for people who already played MHFU on their PSPs.
This actually may be BAD news for the IOS gaming scene. Because once this comes out it may be the last game I ever buy.
I’ve just tested the patch. It works. Untranslated are: —��NPC dialogues, —��Some Guildcard strings, —��Most new strings created for iOS port —��Names and descriptions of Japan-exclusive DLC It should be available tomorrow.
