Tap the monster icon on the left side of the screen to toggle. Only available for real monsters, not the small stuff. Once it's active, tapping the background will turn the camera toward the monster instead of the direction you're facing like it normally does. The window is very short. The meat changes color and it's only briefly the right color. When the music stops, count to three and press the button. If it's still rare, count slower, if it's burnt, count faster You can also count revolutions instead of listening to the music. If you can't get it right, it's not too important. You can get a better spit later in the game, or you can make your cats do the cooking, or you can use other items.
I'm very very impressed with the implementation of the controls. The developers were incredibly thoughtfull and smart about it, and it plays really well (on my Mini at least). Like, far far better than it played on the PSP and arguably better than 3G on 3DS (without the circle pad pro). And visually it looks stunning. This game aged very well and now it looks better than ever. Easily the best port on the Appstore. Really happy with this.
Could anyone explain to me why this is not compatible with an ipod 16gb or iPad 2 yet people who installed it using a third party app claim it runs smoothly. What's up with that?
Damn.. You make it so hard to hold off from buying it. I only have £10.78 in my account until mid August so I have to be very very careful what I buy but this is so tempting but it would clear me out.
Monster Hunter newbie question. Once I'm in an online Guild Hall, how do I go out on quests with others? I ask about quests, but I'm not up to par enough yet. But other players keep leaving the room. Are they going off to quest together? I'm going to level up enough today so I can get some online quests. But I just don't know the correct order to go out on a quest with others. Can someone outline it for me please?
I understand this game is quite deep and grindy but ive some questions... Is the game accessible enough without reading a guide? Can you ruin your character by getting the wrong skills or equipment? Lets say you become bored and want to switch weapons mid game, is this possible or would it be too late? For example switching from dual swords to great sword... Im asking all of these because i used to be an OCD power player... Now i dont have much time anymore so i cant experience and test different builds anymore in RPG games..
@Den Den, You learn as you play. I think there is armour class for gun users and another class for blade users. If you make the wrong thing, you can get the materials again by carving/gathering/other. You can swap weapons anytime when at the village (between quests). This includes swapping between classes, if you want to (no cost for swapping weapons or anything).
Hey guys, I have an iPad 2 and an iPod 4th gen. Will it work on either without me having to edit the game or something (referring to Nekkus solution)?
One reason is that they might not have tested it on iPad 2, since it's fairly old now and testing costs money. The other is that in order to restrict your app to those devices you want to support, you require specific hardware features. This isn't very precise, as you can see with the iPad 2 vs. 1st gen iPad Mini: They're generally identical at least for gaming purposes, but they mini has a different camera. So if you depend on camera features then you might accidentally draw the line between these two. But you might have to make this choice regardless, because you need to lock out some other old device. When you start, it tries to teach you slowly but also keeps throwing new stuff at your face anyway. But you really only need the basics to get started, the difficulty ramps up slowly and there's no benefit at all to minmaxing in the early game. Later, it becomes more tricky to beat monsters and people tend to start looking up what gear they can make and how to get the materials and so on, or look up what monsters are vulnerable to etc. But if you play for long enough to get to that point, and then stop, that's still a lot of playing time... No. Skills come from your equipped gear, so the worst case is you have to grind out some more gear. Usually you'd already have some of the parts anyway, and getting more is not a problem because you can repeat quests if you want to hunt specific monsters. No problem, you'll have to learn (as a player) how the new weapon works and you need the materials to make it, but that's it.
Happy 4th of July to all you hunters! I love celebrating the holiday by playing a game with the word FREEDOM in the title.
Ok, from reading Nekkus other post hidden amongst the other posts, I have discovered that I need ifunbox. I can't download ifunbox free because it is 17+ (school iPad has restrictions), but I can download ifunbox pro (because it is rated 4+...I don't even...). Can someone, preferably Nekku (because of his experience with the matter), PM me step-by-step instructions on how to get this onto my iPad 2? Eg. Do I need special programs on my computer Thanks in advance, Duivs
Just started playing! At the very least, if we're not as good as Pscience - let's just group together to kill a beast! Hahaha.. (I'm anticipating I won't be that good already)
Been playing this game nonstop for 6 hours. I am a believer. I did all the training missions, some single player missions and had a handful of 4 player co op missions that were great. Reminds me a lot of Phantasy Star Online. Questions though: How do I make a beacon on the map the other players see? Is there any way to chat once the quest starts? Do japanese players play on the same servers as us?
You guys are making it really hard for me to fight the temptation of buying this game. It looks fantastic even though I know absolutely nothing about it
