I never played one of these games. Is it like a traditional RPG? Like do a story/quest, level up, get the best gear and such? Im a bit confused on what type of game this is lol. Or is it like its own unique genre?
To to make it clear: I did not shoot the game down, I gave a good review with the 1 star and stated in my review why but had nothing but good things to say about the game itself. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be upset about the save transfer but in no way would I say the game was bad because it's far from it.
i'm considering the average star rating, which a lot more people look to for immediate insight on whether or not to make a decision to purchase a game than they would wading through hundreds of reviews to check if the one-star ones buried amongst convoluted mess of "FUN GAEM" posts are sincere or not that sums it up pretty well, except there isn't really any leveling, your power is mostly equipment-based, and don't mistake it for a turn-based game in the traditional sense, because you will be swinging oversized swords (with character animations that give off sort of a dark souls vibe and beautifully display how the weight of the weapon would truly feel to your superhuman, leverage-considerate avatar) over your character's comparatively tiny head to scrape the underbelly of a large dragon in real time
As a beginner, I'm finding it easier with the dual weild for my playstyle... I was having issues aiming my strikes with the hammer and great sword which I would have preferred to use. I'll go back when j get used to it
there's a small village which serves as a hub to a diverse set of sectioned areas there really isn't a story, but there are quests, which send you to said areas with different objectives (supplies to gather, monsters to kill, etc.) there isn't an open-world, though that would have been pretty cool, but each area is made up of generally 9 or so different rooms that you'll pass through frequently when navigating the map no dungeons in that sense, but i suppose you could think of each area as a sort of non-linear dungeon, haha and bosses, yes it's 90% bosses and boy, are they good ones my apologies on not being clear before, hope this specified what you were curious of a little more
not at all. hardly anything. it runs like a dream, which honestly sort of took me by surprise lag won't be an issue for that, i'd stake my reputation (.. or lack thereof) on that one
Sweet! I figured it would have a ton of lag! Anyway, see u on the fields of justice! Wait no, wrong game, see on what ever lands this game takes place in!
that's true, i've always found the hammer's reach to be a little weird duals are great, they're one of the weapons i've always tended to take to the end in these games, they make great early-midgame weapons, and in my opinion the most fun to use i was worried about the same after having been disappointed by big games in the past with choppy framerates and the likes, haha sounds good! hope to run into you on the fields of semi-justified dinosaur bloodshed!
i personally love it, it's been one of my favorite game franchises for a while now, but i have known people whose fancies it didn't suit (my dialogue evidently has room for improvement, lol) it will definitely be extremely overwhelming at first (there are a LOT of different active and significant elements to consider), but a little perseverance and you'll know the ropes and'll be slaying the tougher giants in no time :3
I want to try and get into this, and have watched a number of play videos but I'm hesitant due to: There's no health meter for monsters. So, on a phone, how do you know if you can knock this over in 5 minutes or 2 hours? Seems like the same thing over and over again. No damage numbers display when striking the monsters? Would be cool if you could see your damage so you can improve (apart from within the equipment menu). Many seem to love this game so that's got me thinking I might splurge for the chance. Just not sure how I'd go fighting a monster for half an hour and being amped about doing it again x 500. Just getting my decision thoughts out there.
Same here I mean I like for games to always have that carrot dangling in front of me like new armor, spells, weapons or whatever. What will hook me in this?....
Well, as far as I know there isn't a single mission with a 2 hours time limit. Most are below 60 min, and some around 20 min. Even though hunting is the main part of the game and it's the goal in most of the missions, the time limits are long enough so you can also explore the map and get items and such. Some monsters will take a bit of time, but as long as you're prepared for them you shouldn't waste too many time. Also, there are ways to tell the hp of the monster. If he starts to run away, you're close to finish him. It may take some time to get used to them, but just for the camera controls they beat the crap out of the PSP controls. For me, getting better equips, get to higher ranks and level up my Felynes. The fact that there's no story may turn off some people, but I don't really miss it.
