I honestly don't think it makes a difference. MH3U is a bit more modern, but they both ramp up the difficulty slowly. (Also, if you don't have a CPP then MH3U's underwater battles will murder you until you get used to the camera...) I tried it on my 4S earlier, didn't do much other than one guild hunt though. No problems at all, very smooth and the control scheme works just as well as it does on my iPad. And in German, and in French, and in Spanish, and in Italian... unless they removed those other languages for NA?
Finally! Uts been 5 years since I last played this. Lets see how it goes. Ill revive my SnS only run LOL
You could easily make an argument for either. MH3U's combat is much more forgiving largely thanks to the more accurate hit-boxes so it's probably an easier entry, MHFU's Plesioth is one of the most rage inducing video game fights ever. Farming non-monster-carve items in MHFU was waaaay easier, the little farm and kitchen set up was a lot better than the system in place in 3U.
In this case, the kind of unblissful bliss that leads you to miss out on a truly spectacular gaming experience
Are the touch controls good enough for the harder monsters? I love MH but I'm a little afraid the controls won't hold up. I'm used to touch controls, but Monster Hunter demands a lot of skill and precision, control wise.
I'm really really tempted to buy this but I have reservations. I'm not a real fan of action games controlled by the touch screen as I usually find the controls a pain to use but I'm very tempted by this.
The original 16GB model didn't have all the features the larger storage versions did. Apple did release an updated 16GB touch about a week ago, and that may or may not work with this game.
To set up a character took me already more time then all free games (including deletion) from this release day, lol. I went with the male character since the (hillarious) voice set-up is nicer to my ears then the female ones, and i have seen three save-slots.
What i can say is that with the auto-camera controls, this is so much easier than the PSP version. As for controls precision, i admit fumbling sometimes (like once in every 20 hunts) but it's too miniscule a number to affect the gameplay. Im at G-Rank and working my way to unlocking the Fatalis trio but i've solo'd everything so far up til Ukanlos, and he is the final urgent mission.
About iPad 2 and ipod touch 5th 16g problems Device requirements including a camera and auto-focus. That's why it is working on an iPad Mini 1st Gen which has auto-focus but it isn't working on an iPad 2. You will have to delete this line(s) inside the info.plist file to be able to install it on your device. The solution: - download it on your PC using iTunes - open the downloaded IPA file with WinRAR - search for the info.plist file inside the /payload/mhunite.app/ folder - open it, scroll to the end of file and search for <string>auto-focus-camera</string> and <string>front-facing-camera</string>. - completely delete these two lines - save the file, close WinRAR and install the app through iTunes. Game Impressions I am incredibly shocked at how well this looks on my Iphone 5. I honestly thought that playing this on my PSP and Wii would be the only way to go but the controls work fine (otterbox case be damned) and the screen is scaled just enough to make everything visible that you need. I'll be looking forward to playing this on my ipad for certain but for those of you worried that all of this action on a little screen is a problem your fears are unfounded. Enjoy this life consuming game and watch how many hundreds (that's right) of hours you pour into this game. Now if only there was an easier way to integrate finding friends and joining their quests in the lobby. That's the one thing I'm not at yet and the one thing that the Wii version did right.
