    1. Only in Japan as of the moment, which is where we got our copy. Made a JP iTunes account, bought JP iTunes gift card online, apply english patch, install app using Apple config utility, etc. No announced international release dates yet

    2. Dunno, maybe around 15-20 USD once it gets released worldwide

    3. Yes, Offline and Online (Wifi only) multiplayer

    4. 9/10 IMHO

Guess who just met Rathalos for the first time ever? (Guild quest)

Whooooooaaaaah that was hard. So glad I had the upgraded Plesioth blade, even though my unupgraded Battle Armor is abysmal.

Managed to take him down eventually and somehow even broke everything, but man that was hard. He's quick on low HP and does so much damage.

So we can make an educated guess that this will not be out globally for at least 6 months?

How can you go from having problems with a giadrome to taking down a Rathalos while breaking everything? o_O

Well, educated from the knowledge that the game is released in a different country, needs to be translated to English, needs European servers (if that's what the game uses), and needs to be further tested to ensure the game works as intended in the countries it is released in.

But I don't know how long those things take, so perhaps 'estimated guess' would be more appropriate than 'educated guess'...

In fairness, i may be one of the worst from the ones i know personally, but i admit experience got me this far quick on the iOS version since i played MHFU on the PSP back in 2009. I still find my posts in gamefaqs from that time. LOL.

I've been farming azure rathalos and rathalos for a few hours now and i found a trick that can help against his poison sting and fire breaths. What i do is when he floats up to breathe fire or what ever, just go underneath his shadow until he finishes his attack. Worked well for me as a bow user previously having problems evading the poison sting attack.
Just repelled Lunastra, her charge is VERY unpredictable and quite difficult to dodge. Is there a way to take her down and not just repel her? Same with other elder dragons and Shen?

Next time you fight a Lunastra of the same rank, she retains all the damage she has taken from your last fight. That means you can kill her in your second or third fight, depending on how much damage you deal before she flees.

This is also true with teostra, chameleos, fatalis and daora. Lao and Shen can be repelled, but they always have full health at the start of every hunt/defense. Yamatsukami and Kirin are must-kill in one round or fail.

I'm thinking that if this doesn't come out next week, it'll be anyone's guess. Like someone already pointed out a couple of pages back, the 23rd will mark the six-year anniversary of the PSP release of Freedom Unite, which would be a more than apt date to launch this port.

Maybe I'm grasping at straws here, but it wouldn't be too out of the blue, would it? After all, one of PocketGamer's previews claimed that this was coming out "soon. Like, really soon", and I'm sure those sorts of statements aren't usually thrown around unless the journalist already knows something, which could mean the release is imminent.

    I'm that good? :p
Seriously though, I was just not used to the game. And using a lance to kill the Giadrome when you're new is (in hindsight) painful. I found my niche with the greatsword and longsword and things have been going much better since.

In a similar vein, I regretted buying Dark Souls for a full year before sitting down and sticking through it until everything clicked and now I love it.

Yeah, I learned that pretty quickly. The hardest thing for me was actually his charge that he does with little to no warning. Felt extremely satisfying taking him down in the end - most of his attacks did 90% hp in damage so I had to keep it up.

I'm using the plain Battle Armor set and it's getting really tough to survive anything. I managed to take down the Elder Green Plesioth and upgraded the water greatsword which was amazing, but the armor sucks at soaking up damage. The internet tells me that Garuga armor is the best thing until higher levels, but are there any intermediates you guys would recommend?
I'm still only HR 1 and up to 3-star Elder quests. :(

Games like this usually just randomly come out. The build is ready though. My guess is we are just waiting on them to hit the switch. It'll come by July.

You can predict her charge fairly easily. She has a curved charged. If youre far enough, you can watch her charge before you dodge on the correct side. Also, her explosion technique's range depends on how lonw she charges it. Just listen to the chimes. Fast chime, close range. Normal duration, mid range and long duration, long range. Luna and teo are easy when it comes to cutting tails too when they do their flamethrower attack. Its roughly a 5-7 second free attack on their tails.
