Thanks! I'll admit that I did have help, but not from any hackers as I despise them. It annoys me when I look at people's guild cards and see they have a hacked cat. I looked at this one guy's quest log and it was just a bunch of "Black Wings of Fate: Cleared in under 5 minutes!" (Black Fatalis killed in under 5 minutes. Obviously cheating) A guy got mad at me yesterday during Descendants of the King (silver rathalos and gold rathian in the arena together. Referred to as DOTK). I brought my new longsword to try and cut the tails but I bounced, and they were all hammer users so I couldn't really do anything. I decided to carve the rathalos when it went down because I figured it was all over by then. I got my carves as insurance for the quest (as I paid for it and am dirt poor, if we fail at least I get something), and only did so when it was absolutely safe. I placed a shock trap for them to finish of the gold rathian, and we all stood behind it, but instead of charging it did three fireballs. two people rolled both left and right, and ended up being double carted so we failed the quest (already one faint), and we were so close! Really just unfortunate timing. So this guy ragequits and calls me out on the chat for just carving (other people did the same), so I looked at the quest log to see that while I had not died, he had died twice I suppose he was just mad that he died and tried to point fingers. I still haven't gotten that heavenly rathalos scale, and it's the last item I need for the set. However I've realised that I'm going to look ridiculous as the whole set from the neck down looks badass, but then I have this hat on: http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Khezu_Z_Armor_(Blade) my character is female, so yes, I am fortunate enough to have the majestic, limp, pink shrek ears
LOL that helmet is, erm... "epic". Wow hahahahaha! Yes I've been doing more multiplayer, and to lose a long battle because the same person keeps dying... GRRRR. Soooo frustrating. Also, I was multi'ing yesterday, and I had 2 "hunters" that promptly ran off to a variety of gathering spots, leaving me to fend for myself against a very angry tigrex. Sigh... Just wondering, if the instigator of a quest (i.e. me) abandons a quest, what happens to the other hunters? I'm now becoming quite good at fighting the lovely rathian. I want one rathian plate, but as I've learned online, actually getting one is somewhat challenging. I want to upgrade my Wyvern Blade "Leaf" to "Verde", to give me at least some chance against that damn kushala. Not sure how long it will take before I get that rathian plate though...
Hahaha... Really enjoying reading your stories. Really felt familiar, i mean we've all been there too Keep hunting!
Well I did the DOTK quest about 6 times with the help of a pretty pro hammer bro and finally finished my set! It's actually kinda funny with the pink hat, it looks so misplaced that it's comical Not really sure how to gem it properly so I'll get out some paper and do some simple math I know how you feel about playing with the...less competent...I've been playing a lot with this one guy (friendship level over 20 now) but he keeps dying, ah well. Not everyone is the best, and everyone has their own skill cap. I'm not very pro myself, I just know monster movesets. Evade skills really helped me up my game, and not using them is causing my performance to suffer. How do you evade things like tail whips without it? I've come to realise that the most simple items are the most sought after. Bitterbugs, stones, spiderwebs and honey are all in short supply is there any quick ways to get these? I need the stones for bomb material, and I don't think there's any other way to get it besides using the stones, unless there's some alchemy with it. Yesterday I completed the diablos training with the LBG after a few failed attempts. Today a stray thought crossed my mind and I just sighed "...the ledge" which I had forgotten to use. I'm going to abuse it now to make up for yesterday. I'm also in need of money. What's a good way to get some? I've been selling some parts that sell well and I have in reasonable supply, but I don't know if it's wise. Upgrading weapons, making armor and upgrading it really racks up a bill! I thought you might like them! Are you still playing EP?
Not as much as i would like, but yeah, just about 2-3 sessions per week, each section about 1-2 hours long.
What do you guys think about a new MH game? 700 hours here and I'm starting to get quite bored... I've done pretty much all the quests in the game, and got myself all the weapons and armors that I wanted to have. MH3U For iOS, or even better, MH4U for iOS would have been the best thing ever!!!
Well it's good to hear you still play at least, such is life with all its busy...ness haha That would be nice, I've always wanted to try the insect glaive since I heard about it. I also wouldn't mind some more accurate hit boxes (especially with The Fish Who Shall Not Be Named) and better graphics would be a plus. ---- Well I tried the ledge and it didn't work that well, it's very short so monsters still hit you, which, really, is smart design or else every ranged arena fight would be too easy. I imagine the ledges in the proper maps would be better for camping if you wanted to resort to it. I finished off all the 'learn how to use weapon x' quests, and then came up with the question while doing the congalala gunlance training: why block with the lance and gunlance? They seem to block without me pressing the button, unless that particular armor for that quest gives autoguard, which I didn't check...
Oh, you mean Plesioth!!!111 LOL Ahem. Seriously though, how in the blimmin' heck did Capcom screw up the hitboxes so badly on things like Plesioth? It's especially weird when this game was obviously created with an eye for details... I would *love* to buy a 3DS to play the latest MH games, but I'm not sure how well that would go down with my wife! (Especially considering that I already spend too much time gaming on my phone).
WE DO NOT SPEAK OF IT!!!111 I really don't know. You'd think they would have tested it and thought "something isn't right here..." I'm not getting the newer titles more out of self restraint. I don't want it to interfere with my studies and don't want to have to deal with an addiction to it rather than being social.
Probably a very wise decision. Just "finished" a fight with a 5* (guild) tigrex in the desert... I had one other hunter with me, and we were doing great. Suddenly, he died. He made his way back while I cautiously poked away at tiggy, and we were getting into a groove... and then my partner died again. I continued to poke away, broke tiggy's face and sliced off the tail. Suddenly tiggy started to limp. My partner reappeared, and we went on the offensive. I'm sure we only had a couple of slashes left before victory. And then my partner died for the 3rd time. Sigh... I swear I saw tiggy laugh at me as my character slumped to the ground in frustration.
Very aggravating, I can almost feel the despair. Especially since it sounds like you were doing most of the hard work! Unfortunately some people don't really understand that this isn't a hack 'n' slash, and think that trading a hit for finishing a combo is worth it. There are also kids playing, who may not put so much thought into their strategies. Not everyone is a top class hunter, but it gets annoying when someone consistently carts and dies foolishly (like getting hit and trying to chug a potion immediately, without making sure it's safe).
^Pretty much. Monster Hunter games made me a more strategic player in any other game i have played. LOL
GRRRRR DAMN YOU TIGREX!!! I don't have enough swear words to explain how I feel about bl00dy tigrex right now! I'm talking about the 2nd 5* guild quest, "the tigrex's roar". I have hunted it solo many times, and I have hunted it with others many times... Each of the multi-hunts have ended with my partners carting once too often. My god that is frustrating. It's got so bad that I've decided that I *WILL* defeat that b@st@rd solo, and boy oh boy, I've come sooo close to doing so... My most recent hunt almost caused me to throw my phone in rage. I was down to the last 2 minutes(!) of the 50 minute time-limit. Tigrex had been limping for quite some time (I had slashed it MANY times during 2 limping phases in 2 areas). I had no healing items left, and I'm convinced that I only needed to hit tiggy once or twice more. But I was cornered by 2 stupid ankylosaur things, and then charged by tiggy... 3rd cart, game over. It's enough to make a grown man cry... Now you might be thinking, "why not just stab the ankylosaur things, and move away from danger?", and that's a fair question. The answer is BECAUSE CAMERA. I couldn't see what the hell was going on. Steam is coming out of my ears just thinking about it! So, here's what I'm doing now. I'm training myself in the ways of the lance, so that I can actually block! (I've been primarily a LS user). Lancing is really fun, even though I'm completely crap at it at the moment. But it's coming together slowly. The upwards-triple-stab is particularly satisfying. Once I have mastered back/side steps, and poking my target from behind the shield, tigrex's soul will be mine. YES, YES IT WILL.
^ I think we've all been there with one monster or another, mostly Tigrex! You have both my sympathy and my smile This makes me think you're either not hitting Tiggy enough or don't have good enough gear. I am all for taking it slow with quests since there IS 50 minutes, but if you actually need all of that time then you should consider upgrading or changing strategy (like lancing as you have thought of). You could almost kill/repel two lao shan lungs in that time! If you really can't get him, I'd try bows. Easier to transition than bowguns and pretty simple. Very safe too, the biggest threat is your own greed, which admittedly has gotten the better of me many times. Edit: I also hate those brown dinosaurs! Chase you around for no reason and have surprisingly high health. Also you have to check that they are dead by trying to walk through them, which is the annoying cherry on top

I wonder if this addresses the left-D-pad bug in iOS 10? (If that problem actually exists any more). Tempted to upgrade to iOS 10, but I don't want MHFU to be affected.
So the left button sort of works. Seems like there's a huge dead zone and only bottom corner of left button works. Otherwise it doesn't work if I don't hit that spot. Trying to upload image so you can see what I'm talking about. Circled general area where I aim for with finger. I used left button in the armor crafting vendor screens. Scrolling through all the armor pages. Read about bug but haven't been able to run until now. Just got new phone.
I hate Tigrex It's up there with any Plesioth variation as my least favourite monster in MHFU So you can imagine how i felt about The land of tremors quest with 2 Tigrex The strange thing is, even though i never use great sword for anything, that's the only weapon i could clear that quest with. It's like it's designed to kill Tigrex Shock trap, full charge. When it enters rage mode, flash bomb, wait for taunt then full charge. Once the flash wears off it wont be in rage mode much longer. Rinse and repeat, quest done with lots of time left. I tried and failed spectacularly with hammer, bow, bowgun, long sword, sns, lance and gunlance before trying great sword out of pure desperation. Oh and cut it's tail early on
