LOL thanks! Yes, Tiggy is a pain in the buttocks, and I'd still be hesitant to go for a rematch! Funny you should mention khezu - he's tremendously easy to defeat, yet also (due to greed, as you say) very easy to get zapped by!
Thanks EP. Shortly after taking down diablos, I had a go at black diablos. Was certainly a bit tougher (and a bit more aggressive!) but still defeated it first go. Big air-punches ensued! The black diablos fight reminded me of something funny I read several weeks ago, when I was still really struggling with the game (actually, do you ever really stop struggling with this game?!?!), and I was up to the white monoblos. [EDIT] Found it... https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/30cuj9/been_fighting_white_monoblos_for_a_while_now/ The first answer to the thread's question simply says, "The normal Monoblos has mercy." LOL tremendous stuff. Wow... 142 hours in, and loving this game more than ever.
I'm wondering the same thing. I know the hunting part of the game works, but in iOS 10 beta, there were problems with the left d-pad input. Do those problems still exist? Considering the amount of time spent in menus and inventory screens in this game, a broken left-input would be tremendously annoying. (This is the only reason I have yet to upgrade to iOS 10, despite apple's constant nagging to do so).
Kirin Thunder Tail! Yes, kirin thunder tail, I'm talkin' to you. What the blimmin' heck am I supposed to do to obtain you? Eh? No matter how many clean strikes I make on each kirin's horn... No matter how many kirin lay dead at my feet... No matter how many other kirin materials I have collected... I can't seem to get the tail! DAMN YOU DESIRE SENSOR!!! AND DAMN YOU KIRIN YOU GLOWING PONY FROM HELL!!!
It may...uh...be high rank only Not 100% sure but I'd feel bad if you'd only been slaying low rank ones all this time for nothing! I wanted to make my first high rank set and I started on Genprey U because it would have fate, but half way through I realised that it would take me ages to get the small golden fish, and I could just make the low rank morph suit genprey stuff which gives even more points in fate. Why. Why have I done this. So I became a mix of high rank genprey and bits and bobs of other dromes to give be Luck Booster and nothing else XD I'm not working on the Giaprey armour U because it has evade +, and then I can use that to farm for something better. Kut Kut ears are continuing to evade me. I just need one more! Fought the gravios to unlock black gravios and then fought that to get some black gravios shells, and boy was it frustrating. I forgot how annoying he was for melee! He charges past me, so I run after him, and then he turns around and runs past me again ah well, such is life. I might get the butterfly set (gets evade + and special attack up) for a bow (and start making some bows). That might be nice for multiplayer if I can gem in the paralysis coat add skill. Anyway that's my jumbled report of the day, hope you enjoyed (and made sense of it)
Nice report - I enjoyed reading that. And you reminded me that I don't need to have matching armour sets - as long as I have the skills that I want activated, I can mix and match. For now I've given up on obtaining a kirin thunder tail - you may be right about it being a high rank only item, but for now I don't want to fight the stupid glowing b@st@rd anymore. Anyway, now that I've slain so many kirin, I've had plenty of materials to make the kirin set for use during my bow escapades. Hasn't been upgraded much yet (running short on armour sphere+), but that's ok. I obtained a daimyo's warbow, because the next quest was to fight a gravios. I hadn't fought one before, but expected it to be easy, as basarios is a joke with a bow. But first I needed a few more daimyo hermitaur parts in order to upgrade the bow. I thought the dual hermitaur 5* quest might be a bit of a challenge, but it was quite the opposite. It was trivially easy, with the 1st daimyo virtually defeated before the 2nd one appeared. Ran that quest a couple of times, had the materials I needed, and upgraded to a daimyo's warbow 3. So it was finally time to fight the gravios. And yep, just like the gravios, it's a joke with a good bow. The only thing to look out for is the fire beam attack, but that's easy to avoid. I have to say, I enjoy the easy quests, as they are fun and quite relaxing. Especially after the ordeals of facing tigrex!
I'm definitely going to make some bows then! Right now I'm a tad miffed because I've hit what is the closest I've ever come to a grind in this game. To upgrade my anvil hammer to onslaught hammer I need to mine another 30 iron ore, which can't be traded (I tried to offer my services online for iron ore in exchange . To upgrade my Kut Kut pick I need about 30 brute bones, and you know where you get those...*bulldrome flashback* *shiver* He's ridiculously easy but I don't really want to fight him heaps for those bones, and there aren't many other ways to get them quick (blangos sidestep like they're on the dance floor and my hammer just can't keep up with those moves!) Anyway I've got the giaprey U set now with evade +2 because I'm a scrub I don't really know what set to make next though, none of them really take my fancy with cool skills... Maybe I'll start on the bow stuff... What would be better? Permanent poison arrows or permanent close range coated arrows? I would do permanent paralyse coating arrows but the charms only give +1 each and I won't have enough slots
I worked out a strategy today actually. Bait him into running into a corner and then whack him because he can't go far past you. Rinse and repeat. You really have to watch your health though because it looks like he nudges me and then I'm half dead
I seem to get so many iron ore from my farm that they have become a good, reliable source of income, much like carpenterbugs. As far as bows go, I'm not sure what's better. I just look up a particular monster's weakness, and craft a blade or bow based on that (and upgrade when I can). (Though I've only really used bows on basarios and gravios).
I find it very easy to stay alive against a kirin. It's managing to hit the damn thing that's the problem!
The first bit was about hitting him, because by the time I catch up to him he runs away again. The second part was just a passing comment on how much damage he does for knocking you over haha
YES!!! Take that, fire-susceptible monsters!!! After WEEKS of using my Wyvern Blade "Fall" when fire was the recommended element, I've FINALLY managed to get the required materials to upgrade to Wyvern Blade "Blood"! The jump in raw damage is huge (from 528 to 768), and the increase in fire damage is pretty good too. The quest that gave me the required materials was The Troublesome Pair. When the quest was first made available (as the elder 5* urgent quest), I was worried. How was I going to handle rathalos and rathian (together at last!!!)? Turns out it wasn't too hard - I cleared it first shot and finally got my first rath webbing. A few more runs of that quest, and I got 2 more webbings, and FINALLY the required rath wing. So, so satisfying.
I've been using a bow as my projectile weapon of choice. I've become sort of good using a bow, and they are lots of fun. The downside is the time taken to down a monster with them. So I thought I'd investigate bowguns. (I haven't touched any bowguns since the training school quests). Had a look at what I could get crafted, and I was able to get the blue kut-ku cannon HBG. Tested it on a velocidrome - wow, that was easy! I've read that kirin is easy with HBG's loaded with pellets, so I had a try. I've gotta say, walking around with a HBG feels so different to everything else I've tried, and it will no doubt take a bunch more time before I learn to use it properly (reloading, sheathing, etc etc), but the kirin went down fairly quickly (still no thundertail dammit)! I was very surprised to see that pellet shots seem to home in on the kirin's horn, even when your aim isn't quite perfect. The only trouble I had was dodging some attacks, as I'm not used to sheathing regularly for mobility. Actually that's something else that is just frankly amazing about this game... you have to learn how to use each weapon class. There is so much subtlety and nuance to the difference weapon classes, and it takes time and trial & error to learn.
Guys, who ate in ios 10.1.1? i recently bought an iphone to play this game however it got accidentally updated to 10.1.1. Is the left directional bug still exist in the os 10.1.1? Because if it does then I guess I'll wait for an update before buying the game. Thank in advance for those who'll reply.
If only there was someone with an iPhone on iOS 10.1.1 who could test that for you... In all seriousness I don't know. This was asked a few pages back but I still don't know for sure. It doesn't make the game unplayable though,so I'd still start 'er up
