I think I just found a bug! I decided to check out the group training school, and the challenge quest 8 displays a picture of a monoblos (or diablos, can't remember) that you'll fight in the moat arena, but the fight is actually against a terra shogun! Got quite a surprise haha
Wow. I can't believe it. I went online and met a guy that was one of the first people that I played with! He's like 4th on my friend list and we already had a friendship rating of 3. I also had typed the comment 'Awesome guy' for him because he must have been pretty cool or something. I was shocked to recognise someone I used to hunt with! Never expected to see anyone from pre-iOS-bug-era haha While I'm HR 8 he was still HR 6, so I guess he hasn't been playing all that much either. Him and I helped a HR 1 newbie gunner do a wide variety of low rank quests to help him beat congalala and Khezu, and we progressively got harder until we beat azure rath, shogun and even a tigrex! To end the session we roflstomped a daimyo in 2 minutes lol I think we'll make a little party and try to join up again once I make a new character, should be fun! In other news, I recently worked up the courage to attempt some MOI dodging, and I'm getting better! I've got evade +1 and am managing to evade lots of things like narga' tail swipe, narga and tigrex's roars, and (what I'm most proud of) plesioth's hipcheck!
^Very, very cool to have met a gaming partner again. And about MOI evasion, Narga tailswipe is quite easy without any evade skills, the roars are doable with practice but very punishing if you fail it in G-Rank, and Plesioth's hipcheck is just plain annoying.
Ooh... now that's a good catch. LOL 2500 hours and i've never came across anyone pointing that out, or i didnt pay attention. Hahaha!
Yeah I know, I just want to learn how to do it first before I wean myself off evade +1 That's why I'm happy I could do it- plesioth and me aren't exactly friends haha I guess nobody else really noticed either Why don't those quests tell you everything you will fight? Unless I skipped past something?
Kirin defeated!!! Quite a long and tedious fight, to be honest. It just wouldn't stay still. Now it's gone from the list of 5* elder quests... was the kirin a special quest or something? Alright... time to face 2 blangongas... erm, yes. Gonna be "interesting".
Note that you can't get elder dragon bones from Kirin, but there's a 5% chance of getting elder dragon blood if I remember correctly So you'll have to take down the bigger baddies if you want to make a few of a particular item hehehe
That explains the "bedj farming here" "plz help bedj" "need bedj" "who wants to farm bedj?" all over the chat # For those that don't know, it means big elder dragon jewel. Took me ages to work that out haha
For BEDJ, Chameleos is the easiest way to gather them, mathwise. iirc, Chameleos gives 1% more chance to get it in rewards, and he's the easiest and fastest Elder Dragon to kill on G-rank at around 15 minutes per fight using the Silver Los Gold Ian Dual Swords (forgot the name. ). EDIT: Punishment Blades... Just remembered it. LOL
Are lances and gun lances actually viable and fun? I want to become a master of all weapon types, but they just look so...immobile Also the lance looks like it's just the same move over and over Is it okay to use dual blades without the power juice stuff? Would I be hurting my DPS a lot? Also could I please be pointed somewhere to learn about the bow guns? I've never used them but want to learn for the class mastery
After putting in so many hours in this game, Chameleos is one of the monsters I actually haven't fought yet. So many rare items I've never got..
I believe I've only ever hunted one just to get the log entry. I hate getting my stuff stolen # And I don't think I've actually killed a Teostra or Lunastra either- I was afraid of the explosions but now I've learned how to judge them. That aura is a pain though.
When they flinch, they lose the aura temporarily. They regain the aura back when they roar. You can permanently stop the aura by breaking the horns with Dragon Element weapons hitting the head. You can check your guild card anytime to see how many of the monsters you have fought except the Fatalis iirc.
Lances are fantastic in MHFU. Gunlances, not so much. In the succeeding MH titles though, the Gunlance has been buffed significantly. Lances only have a few attacks, coz the bulk of its strategy involves stringing together upstabs and straight pokes with their multi-hop sequences. Because of the multi-hops (multi-dodge) one of the best skills is to abuse this with Evade+2. Lances are my 3rd most used weapons in MH, and I love it due to how different it is to GS and Hammers which play a bit similar.
