And I was just about to update to iOS10. Probably best to wait off for the first incremental update, just to be safe...
Damn this left directional pad bug. However the game is ultimately still playable since generally in combat you're using the stick control. It's mainly going through inventories is annoying since you can't go left and can only go right.
What's this bug you're all talking about? (Haven't played the game in ages and am not going to until after exams for obvious reasons) Is it only for controllers or for touchscreen too? I don't have a controller. I don't remember there being a directional pad...
I dunno if the bug exists on controllers. But it's the left directional button. Tapping on it won't "press" the button. You have to swipe it. Note that it's the left directional button that's bugged and NOT the joystick. So player movement isn't compromised.
I have played online and I havent had any problems on it. I am now on G rank quest. The only problem I can think of is when you're party members have crappy internet, and they will leave in the middle of the quest. Haha
F****ck stuck at Akantor both village and guild. That big lug is slow and easy to dodge though but his hp must be huuuge! Never seen him limp, using Narga hidden bow
Yeah... Bows are pretty bad against akantor. Their DOT is on the low, and only excel if the enemy is either moving quick or when out of range or other weapon types. Akantor's weakness is his head, with his stomach second, both of which are accessible to melee heavy hitters, and akantor's slow speed guarantee that you have openings, that bows can never compete with the damage output. That said, i have killed a few akantors with bows before, but it is very very slow, that i wont recommend it if you have melee weapons available.
Just reporting this as it might be helpful to some people cautious of upgrading to iOS10: I've upgraded my iPad mini 2 to iOS10 and MHFU works perfectly fine (no left directional button bug). Updated via hooking my iPad up to my Mac and upgrading through iTunes. Took a good while but everything is fine.
G-rank is an uphill battle, but definitely doable. That includes ALL multi-monster marathon missions. They're all doable solo. Iirc, only sword and shield cant complete the 4 and 5 monster marathon quests.
Defiantly doable solo. This is my second time going through (first was before iOS broke the game). I love the difficulty of g-rank. Nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment after beating the g rank ratholos and rathian and then beating the 2 Rajang quest solo.
Just took down my first tigrex! Oh yeah baby! It was the village 4* urgent quest, "absolute power". I had prepared flash bombs, materials to create more flash bombs, lots of healing, power/armour seeds, a couple of large barrel bombs, and some traps. The fight started out well, with tiggy being caught in traps, being flash-bombed, and basically being owned. But once those items ran out, it was a whole different story. Wow - he's an aggressive beast! After almost 30 mins of fighting, running, and being clawed to within an inch of my life (and losing 2 lives in the process), my health bar was down to 20%, and I had absolutely no healing items left. My felyne partner came back into the battle just in time for me to land some (LS) hits on a distracted tiggy. Then tiggy started limping, and after I poked his butt several times, he flew off to area 3 to get some sleep, and I ran after him. I had absolutely *no* room for error - one hit would have ended it. It was so nervewracking. Somehow I managed to land 6 hits without getting hit in return, and then suddenly he was dead! This was the most triumphant I have felt playing this game (and there have been many moments like that), because the tigrex is BY FAR the most difficult enemy I've faced so far. I've been amazed at how easy some enemies have been (basarios is a joke with a bow, and shogun cenataur is easy no matter what you use), but tigrex tipped the game's difficulty back into the OMG territory (this was my 5th attempt against him). LOVE this game!
