Need beginner advice. So now that im through training and starting little regular jobs I have a few questions. Should i concentrate on upgrading my current weapons and gear or not bother with that and work on getting mats to make new items? When I'm on these jobs should i just kill everything to amass mats? Any other very beginner tips? Thanks
Go for better weapon because upgrading gears and weapon can be halted when you need a super rare item. Like fatalist eye
When you can easily get powerful weapon that has lesser rare items required Upgrading may anathema at g rank levels
When starting out, go for Raw-type damage weapons. Dont go for the elemental ones YET. On low rank missions, bombs deal a craptonne of damage, since the damage is fixed and doesnt change across the ranks. One of the most important things to remember when first starting out is to know the locations of certain in-quest farmable items like power seeds, potions, or even paintballs. If you cant find the boss monster you are hunting, but you see a hot-air balloon in the distance around you, use the "wave" gesture to wards it, and the monster's location will be revealed briefly. Just some tips there to help start out.
Thanks all! Im on the giadrome job and died after a lengthy battle, but my question is a strategy one, i know i should probably use bombs. My question is when it runs to another section of the map does it gain all its health back?
The dromes heal when they transfer areas. Other boss monsters need to sleep to gain some hp. That behavior is indicator of low hp though, so if they do that, you are mostly doing good. Bombs deal a ton of damage early on, but they are hard to land hits on quick moving enemies.
Ok so it's my first monster hunter game so I'm Pretty lost. I did a couple trainings and got the hang of a couple weapons. Now I started the first quest to collection mountain herbs, however when I collect them it's not counting in my quest tracker. So I have no idea what to do or how to even leave the zone to go back to the town. Also what should I be doing to be getting better? Focus on gear upgrading? What's the best route in doing this? And how do I lock on enemy's? Is there anyway I can see their HP or the damage I am doing? Thanks
I think the first quests can be ended any time? Or am I mistaken? One of the boxes at the start should have an "end quest" ticket called the Paw Pass. Then you put it in the opposite box and the quest will end. If I remember correctly. You can only lock on the boss monsters. You'll get used to it after a few hours. And you can't see HP, only some tells on low health for bosses (dragging their leg, etc). Focus on getting better weapons, then armor. For weapons, focus on the weapon that you use well and go with that.
They heal a small amount... But it does stack if you cant keep up with your damage. He'd still fall, but it'll take a while.
These are excellent tips Exact, good job brethren. Taught me alot alongside the various other advice you've posted. I'm new to the series. Only picking it up due to the Demon Souls battle mechanic similarities. Question for you... What you think about the new mh generations? Better than mh fu? The now added weapon arts system, and other new mechanics which ign.com expressed in it's review video - how you feel about those? elevating mh or just battle system tweaks?
15 Hours in my first Monster Hunter experience, got to say that this thread provides many excellent tips to the new hunter. I have now upgraded my base armour to full gipray armour and the iron katana long sword.
Delivery quests require you to go all the way back to the base camp and drop the items off at the red box. The blue box gives you supplies. If you are doing a free run (can just collect and whatever, will unlock these later) a ticket is dropped off at the blue box after 5 minutes that you simply bring to the red box to end the quest
Constant disconnects @lickzy has some possible solutions that seem to be helping me! Seems like a lot of the problems come from ios network connection!
monster hunter freedom unite still works on ios 10 public beta 2 but with minor issue with the left button not being responsive. Joystick still works fine. Hope they port monster hunter generations to ios or I'll be forced to get the new 3ds xl hehe!
I noticed this too on public beta 2 but I think it's not just on MHFU. I played Minecraft PE with my daughter last night and the same thing happened. There was a slight delay or bug with the left direction button on Minecraft PE as well
