Thanks for the info, guys. I have another doubt: is it imperative to play online to progress? I know that we can benefit very much from that in terms of learning and gear, however, is it doable solo? I don't care if the progression is slow. I like to enjoy an online play from time to time, but I hate when I feel that it is an obligation. In fact, I prefer single player games. What do you guys think about it?
Ive played entirely solo, and clocked up 123 hours of gameplay before the game broke. Some of the later monsters are tough, playing solo, but doable.
Can anybody help me out, please? I was playing MHFU for around 150 hours before it broke. When it broke, I made a backup of my savegame on my PC (via an iPhone manager). I changed my device eventually and didn't install MHFU again. I installed the fixed version yesterday, but now I have the problem that I can't put my savegame back because MHFU is no 'shared file'. My iPhone is't jailbroken, btw. Somehting must have happened when iOS 8.3 came. I tried iFunabox, iMazing and other programs, but nothing works. I really don't want to start from the scratch. So, has somebody a solution for me?
Damn. That sucks. From your experience, I'm going in with the mindset that there is a chance down the road all my effort will be lost. I hope you find a way to get your stuff back.
I was in the same boat as you and unfortunately there's no fix for that. I actually was on 8.1 until this month (phone broke) because THAT very reason. Removing access to the files was the ONLY reason I refused to upgrade my iOS firmware. A very very stupid decision on Apple's part. Many games don't have iCloud and even games with iCloud, most of them can't even sync! I spent 3 hours trying to sync Agarest War iCloud saves and never got them to work. I was very upset. If I still had access to the files, I would've been able to get my saves back in 5 minutes or so. Now I may never play that game again. Unfortunately all my literally hundreds of game saves with hundreds of hours of playtime I backed up manually are all useless now. I am now contemplating jailbreak to get my saves back. Seems like this pushes more people to jailbreak than not. tldr: There isn't really a solution. I do know that iPhone SHOULD back up the states of most of your games when you hit the backup button. But once you delete a game with no iCloud, there's no way to get the save back on there without jailbreak.
Thanks Candykiller and Exact-Psience for the solo play info (and Dankrio for asking!). I was starting to get worried that I'd only be able to progress through multiplayer with what I was reading here, until you said the opposite.

Restoring your old saves I have seen a few people having issues restoring their old game saves... I had no issues using "ibackupbot". Give it a whirl. Took me a while to remember how to do it but I simply loaded up an old save, exported my save.data file and imported it into my new game. Give it a try or PM me and I can probably walk you through it Note* my old save was on whatever iOS was at that time and I am currently using the most recent version of iOS

YouTube can help you with that if nobody answers. I've been going there and discovering some on my own with my weapon of choice Great Sword. I wish there was a chain/whip like weapon sort of like Ivy's chain sword from Soul Calibur or Lobos chains from Injustice Gods Amongst Us.
So I was able to play with Ramza this afternoon and I got into his room in less than 10 seconds! I hope that keeps up but I won't be betting on it.. We practiced on the Kutku and I am indeed rusty. I kept forgetting my combos and randomly flailing my sword around. It was a sad sight.
I'm another victim that seemed to have lost everything from when the game broke... The game is great enough for me to warrant another full play through even I spent waaaaay too many hours doing everything. I'm going to still try a few more data manager programs from my Mac to see if I can retrieve lost save files. If I come with anything I'll post it here.
I think we suffered enough just waiting for Capcom to update it. Hopefully MHFU now gets a boost in sales to show them why it was worth doing. Then they shouldn't keep us waiting this long again (although iOS 10 testers offer optimism). What I'd really like is some iCloud cross-device saving and support. I started this game on the iPhone, but have got a tablet since then. Quite fancy making that switch. But really I'm just grateful it's back, and I can update my iOS.
Restarted from scratch and presently doing the 2 star quests. Pretty much picking up all the honey and kelbi horn i can find to stock up for the bigger fights lol. Learned my lesson from my first play through: collecting honey to create mega pots is a PITA
