Combat-wise and in terms of facing huge bosses with very specific behaviour (and in some ways in regards to hunting for rare components for crafting), Ire: Blood Memory is probably the closest you can get on iOS. (Don't let the freemium mechanics scare ya. I've been playing it for a year without ever coming up against any tangible limitation brought about by the implementation of free-to-play. Also, wait a few weeks, until the gargantuan patch hits, which essentially revises the game into half a sequel, and adds lots of stuff that, among other things, might bring it just a tad closer to MHFU immersion-wise.)
Give Ire: Blood Memory a shot if you haven't already- It's pretty similar, though doesn't quite match MHFU's standards (Which is a pretty damn tough feat for a game imo anyways haha) EDIT: Didn't see Ayjona's comment. Whoops
Two recommendations are better than one! I'd say that in terms of world cohesion and narration, immersion, crafting, boss behaviour, monster hunting (the sum of the combat mechanics and all the tricks, traps and other mechanics used to capture beasties), as a game in general and in a great many other aspects, MHFU is unmatched by Ire. When you isolate Ire's combat mechanics, though, I find them even more skill-base, precise and varied than MHFU's. So for lovers of twitch-y melee combat (I am fascinated by MHFU's complex monster hunting, but sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed by its requirements, and occasionally enjoy the pure reflex- and precision-based thrills of Ire's pure close combat more), Ire might actually offer an experience that stands on its own and above MHFU in that one regard.
I've been playing this for a little while, but was always content with saving at the end of missions. But I find it starting to get a little bit annoying. Is there any way to just save while you're in the town? Or what would be even better of course, would be while you're in the middle of your missions. Every time I get called away from what I'm doing, I'm losing a bunch of activity. The only problem I've found with this sweet piece of gaming awesomeness!
In town you can go to your bed and sleep there to save. In missions, there is no saving while in one.
Thanks! Holy crap! I tried when I first started playing to get in my bed, but only from the side of the bed, which oddly enough, won't give you an option to save unless your at the foot of the bed. Really? Who gets in bed from the foot of the bed? LOL
Are there any news about whether MHFU will come back and be fixed for iOS9? Really bummed out this game got pulled.
IIRC it was announced that the Japanese version will be updated (or it has already been updated), which means the international version will probably be updated as well.
Yeah, I remember something along those lines.. Was hoping they might give some kind of expected schedule or something? Such a long wait.
When they announced the fix, they said it would be coming in Spring 2016. Assuming nothing goes wrong, that means the update will hit anywhere from March 20th to June 19th.
It's march now, and im hoping the update happens on Shaun's estimated dates, and by hoping, i mean including the worldwide release version. Here's a throwback to how much we love this game!
Don't tease like that. Every time I see this thread again my hopes are up that's available and working again.
Yeah... Same here actually, but i remembered Shaun saying something about March and MH, that i searched for the thread, and had to post for just a tiny bit of excitement on the possibility of Shaun's words happening.
Hey there's me! Before I went full Narg armor and never went back This game still sits on my homescreen. It will never leave. I have some screencaps myself. I'll go dig them up later (I hope no one gets excited about this thread getting bumped)! PS. I remember EP soloing a Tigrex while me and some others were running for our lives trying to find healing herbs. Fun times.
The Tigrex, Mikasa's fave monster lol. Hope they update it quick, I still haven't reached Ukanlos. Willing to start from scratch.
