Just for the record I'm a big fan of the touch controls implemented in this game, and for anyone that hates them there's always wireless controller support. I'd happily restart this game again if a fully translated version is released but I'm having too much fun with the patched Japanese version to care!!!

I agree to an extent. It does happen on all platforms but a big portion is Android users. Sorry I don't have time to look up stats but generally iOS gets most of the big games because frankly it's difficult keeping up with Android's ecosystem. If they had devices similar in uniform design to apple then there wouldn't be this problem but they want "freedom" so it's their own trade off. Many big iOS games will never reach Android especially when pirating is rather easy on that platform. Anyhow, that's a whole other thing but this is the reason why you pick your platform carefully. If you can ONLY have an xbox or ps3, which would you pick? Kind of like that. You'll never get all the games you want on 1 system.

It was my first time playing a MH game too but I'm addicted. Already put in 50-60hrs.. I forget but I'm enjoying it. You basically hunt for the purpose of getting better / cooler gear and repeat. And also to feel good about yourself. The basic gameplay is challenging but you slowly learn. It's definitely not comparable to DQ8 which is a pure RPG but if you like challenges, collecting, hunting, and a very deep item system then this is your game.

It's also the most massive game I've ever played that's only about 1~gb. I haven't even visited all the worlds yet but everything is so unique!

At 60~ hours in... I dunno if I could..... :(

i love the steady 'wear-everything-you-kill' style in this franchise. nothin' feels better than donning the skin of whatever pain-in-your-ass monster you were finally able to bring down. and those wyvern jaw/great swords are the raddest things ever

An official english version finally! Anyway re tigrex, am using a bow. Just crafted the sonic bow and i got him into limping before he charged at me and failed the quest. Staying on his left side and shooting his face actually makes a whole lot of difference. I'll be packing power seeds, max pots and mega demon drinks next time i fight him and hopefully i'll be able to finish him off

The best anti-Tigrex armor would be Garuga with mask, really cool for blade warriors.
Hermitaur or full Ceanataur armor set will also do the job in your case, I think.

I am looking forward to a potential English / North America release, but not holding my breath over it.

A little hard sifting through all the pages, but is this online only or can you play offline and online?

From what I've read, it looks like it's an offline game that can be played online over wi-fi for multiplayer... at least, in Japan, that is.
