I ended up taking the plunge and buying it. After a couple hours getting the hang of the interface and whatnot I am pretty impressed. Definitely a game for the long term. Question: the camera doesn't follow the characters movement. I'm assuming that isn't changeable? Guessing it'd make it too easy in combat if your camera auto adjusted to your facing every time
Ahh cool. Thanks! I haven't really seen bosses yet. Only have done training and one mission from the village chief that was a "kill X monsters" one. I'll be sure to check it out! Does anyone play this on their TV and/or with a gamepad? The quality of these premium iOS games nowadays is making me think it would be a good investment.
When you're running you can swipe left on the run button to centre the camera behind you. Once you know the layout of the maps you don't really have to do it that much. When fighting bosses, tap the icon on the left, and then tap the screen to lock the camera onto it
I play Monster Hunter on my iPhone 5S with the Moga Ace Power MFi controller. It is an amazing experience, far more comfortable than back when I used to play this on a PSP. I occasionally link up my Apple TV and play which sometimes works well but if there is any network interference it will drop the resolution or frame rate which you can't often afford to lose playing this game. I'm looking to buy a lightning hdmi cable to my TV and get a Bluetooth controller which really seems like the way forward for this gameplay. In terms of actual quality on a TV, monster hunter looks stunning but I'd suggest getting a Bluetooth controller and lightning/hdmi. If you don't mind playing on your phone screen, the Moga Ace Power is by far the best ios game controller at the moment if you feel like digging deep into your wallet.
Have you tried gunning or using bows against it? The fight becomes simpler as you'll mostly just be dodging his land swim attack as long as you are just right outside his hipcheck and tail spin range. Another tip is to use the Evade+2 armor skill. You basically have to just stand under him (without being tripped by his steps), wait for the hipcheck to come out, and dodge it, then you can counter with a few hits.
Awesome! You'll need to learn how to melee him properly later down your hunter path though. It's actually more fun fighting plesioth in melee Keep hunting!
So I had my first encounter with Tigrex while I was doing a 1 star quest from the village chief. Holy crap! That was intense. Well I mean it was cool until the thing jumped on my face and smashed me into the ground, but i guess that was cool too.
It's all about learning their tendencies.. Once you fight a monster a few times it becomes a lot easier.. Happy hunting ##
Now you can look forward to your revenge! And by 'revenge' I mean getting absolutely rekt repeatedly.
Haha I bet! I'm on my first urgent quest to kill Giadrome. Having some trouble clearing his pack of giapreys. Any recommendations on weapons for a beginner? I've mainly used dual blades and bow so far
try using a longsword, since it has a long reach it'll be easier to deal with giapreys and Giadrome, you might wanna try a Greatsword too but since Giadrome moves a lot you'll have to master unsheathe attacks.
For a beginner I would definitely go with the sword and shield, it's less damaging per attack than many of the alternatives but it's easy to learn the combos, as for his pack of giaprey just ignore them! you'll find that your feline will provide adequate distraction to both drome and prey and as long as you're rolling about the place and keeping an eye on their movements it should allow you to focus the drome. Good luck!
Feline? I just got one in my kitchen but they don't come with me on quests. How do you get one to fight with you?
I think it is good to mention that that first time you see tigers he is just there to scare the bajesis out of you. And eat you. But the mission is just to gather those tongues I believe. Funny story; I was under the impression (and a bit confused especially after reading about certain things about the game) that you could only get quests from the guild through the gathering hall. Then I talking to the chief again; now after doing her quests I am progressing like a boss, got my battle armor set and putting attack jewels in it, to hit 15 hoping there is an extra bonus. If not any suggestions for what I could go for with that set? I also made the giadrome claws dual blades AND upgraded them, so I am shredding monsters now especially with the ice attribute. Are certain monsters weak/strong against certain elements? Haven't seen that mentioned. I do have one question that I haven't really explored for too much and one I don't understand atl all that are my reason for posting tho; where is my kitchen so I can bring these kitties with me, and where and how do I get mining points so I can upgrade my farm ladder deal thing? Thanks guys! enjoying the game immensely
