Just another useless status report: I havent done much training, but I was in need of Pokke points, and the Kirin with battle hammer I figured out rather quickly and have it down to an 8-10 minute kill, so I am farming him for now getting pokke points and some currency and working on upgrading weapons / armor before I move on to the kitty cat quests beside the old lady.
I used to farm Garuga with the hammer. Super easy since he's as powerful as a Rathian but basically an upgraded kut ku. 1000 points for the quest, plus way more if you can do it fast
Not sure but it runs just fine on my air and since the 5s is basically the same thing you should be good
Someone in the DH5 thread is so ridiculous. He was defending that freemium nonsense by mocking and saying that people should go back to playing their offline games since they're easier and don't require patience. OH RLY. I also find it funny to imply that freemium is elitist and you play it because you can handle hard games. I don't even know where to begin. The guy told me to refute him. I could write an essay for hours about how he's wrong or post his post in an actual game thread but I'm not an asshole so I'll just ignore him. I guess we should all be playing games tied to online servers since that makes us cool.
There are many jokers like this these days. Being online or not has nothing to do being a free/premium. Go play Demon Souls and it can be as hard be it you play it online or offline. So that guy's argument only makes him a fool. Freemium are elitist indeed. But not in skills in actual game but in making ridiculous points to make them looks better. Like some time back where there's someone who make the point that due to top gross are mostly freemiums means they are better games. That is how ridiculous those people are.
LOL... Unless standing and tanking still while activating abilities and popping potions is considered more skillful than kiting, strict timing, dodging, then yeah... Even mages and ranged classes in online games do this. What online has that influences its game difficulty level is its price. It needs to be balanced that it is a bit difficult enough to push IAP purchases, but the best ones also balance it that it just makes you stronger, not OP. One of the minor reasons online titles are easier as well, is the consideration for latency. Attack cancelling, orb walking, moment of invulnerability strictness (less than 0.2s invulnerability only in MH's dodge for example) are some of the few action game elements that are not viable to online games coz of the possible latency fluctuation. Im not saying freemium games or online games are automatically easier, (like popping potions and using skills in sequence require a bit of skill too) but in general devs will have to make some considerations to make their games playable by as many people as possible. In other cases, time grinds + money sinks dont really define difficulty.
How funny. I play an online freemium game that takes quite a bit of patience to progress at the top levels, and you really have to stay on top of all of the daily stuff, as well as keep up with the guild wars. Our guild even started using Line chat to keep coordinated better. The point is, we spend a lot of time each day in this game. When I told a guild mate that I played Monster Hunter, he went on about how much he loved it, but that he simply didn't have the time to play it these days. So there ya go, even freemium online competitive games take less time dedication than Monster Hunter.
Lol awesome replies everyone. Thanks for that. I really just wanted to get that irritation off my chest. The person who wrote it sounded like he believed freemium was tier elitist so much that I felt like convincing him would be a waste of time. He already knows he's Dark Souls Freemium Master Sensei (i still can't believe his retort is "go back and play your offline games if you can't handle difficult games" smh) And to everyone that does or did play Monster Hunter, you know true pain and true reward. And had fun at the same time
Ok after about 3 days, probably 50 attempts, a thumb that feels broken or possibly blistered, 2 different armor sets, 3 different weapon types.... I finally beat the 2 Monoblos quest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY. onwards ho!
Please guys help... I have just started monster hunter today and am in sword training killing low level animals and beasties and its a great game.....but....why are there NO sound effects when fighting?? Like sword sounds, stabbing slashing, sounds of striking, or even movement?? Is it my game or are there no sound effects? All i hear is the background music and weather effects, thats all? Its just that it is really taking away from the immersion, so is this what all the game is like? Someone pls answer
Could be a bug. The game has sound effects for everything, even farts. LOL Did the sound effects just disappear or has it never been on for you since the start?
This happens to me with a lot of games on my iPhone 6+ whenever I get a call while playing. I'll get back to the game after the call and I can hear the BGM, but no sound effects at all. I don't recall having this issue with Monster Hunter, but whenever I get this problem with other games, the only way to fix it is to close out the app completely (hit home button, then double-press home button to bring up the active app list, then swipe up on the app to completely close it out). Hopefully that fixes it for you. If not, you may need to delete and reinstall.
Yer a star, thanx that worked, i was so worried that it was just like that, phew that wud have totally ruined the immersion for me. Thanx the sound is spot on now! #
Hey girl, I'm a bit like a hypnocatrice- Once I'm done with you, you'll be-zoar. Of all the things I could do while day dreaming, I create a Monster Hunter pick-up line. Should I be concerned?
What's your best farming strategy for Elder Dragon Bones? I need a heap of Dark Stones and Dark Pieces. I usually go for Lunastra or Chameleos, but is there some faster/easier way?
