for the love of god someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. I am getting ok at avoiding his attacks (not good, just ok) but I just cant damage him enough! I used 7 hot drinks, and unsheathed to his face probably 15 times, but I have no idea how cloe he was to death, or if he was close at all. In the videos I see them using charged attacks, but are we able to do the same thing? If I am not at a dead stop I cant just unsheath my weapon, I do an attack, then have to recover, then start charging. At this point Im only like 10 seconds too late to even think about hitting him with a charge attack to the face.. In fact even if I manage to come to complete stop, I have to unsheath, and then start charging... it all seems to just take way too long. Furthermore (I know some people will just call this lack of skill or something but I stand by it) ios controls suck on my ipad, its really awkward to do everything and sometimes it just is unresponsive like Im holding to the let or right to start running after I recover and I just stand there like a dolt and get hit by his charge. Very frustrated if you cant tell
To do the level 3 charged strike when tigrex turns, your weapon must be at a certain attack rating to inflict enough damage on the head to flinch him in one full charge so you have time to roll and sheathe. If you dont have a gs that can flinch in one hit, you have to stick to the 45-degree slash when he turns to deal safe damage.
EP will give you some tips, he's the master around here From the very little experience I have with great swords you might be able to start charging immediately by sliding and holding one of the buttons while sheathed. And about the controls, are you using a thick screen protector? That could be hindering you. Maybe you just need to find better openings to use items or something.
The first monster I ever raged over was Quropeco from MHTri. I didn't know about paintballs, and I only had weak sword and shields. I COULD have hit his soft belly, but nooooo- younger, noobish me insisted on hitting his scaly backside Just goes to show that knowledge is half the battle!
Maybe you were aiming for the super rare "ultra mega super awesome scales" item on his backside! Already thinking like a pro
Ok, Ive improved a little but I still have no idea how close he is to death. Im downing 10 pots and 10 mega pots and still losing. Here is my problem(s) 1) After I triple charge him in the face a few times, he rages, when he rages he moves faster and even with full stamina and a hot drink I still run so effin slow that I cant escape the area before he bowls me over and I lose half my health. 2) there is one area (6 i think) that is easiest to face him in, but he always flees after I get in a couple good hits. I cant just wait him out until he comes back, before I have a limited supply of hot drink to use so, is there any way I can get him to not flee, or to come back and hit me? he always wants to fight in area 7 and 8. God I hate this motherlover
Here's some Tigrex with GS footage where you can find the non-charged attack im doing when he turns. That's what i do in this video most of the time. Sorry if the video's out of sync though.
Holy crap. You didnt know of the auto lock in MHFU iOS? Coz the camera controls on the touchscreen is crap without it. Here's an old video for the lockon. Hope this helps.
I played without lock on for maybe my first 50 hours? lol. When I found out about it, it took me a while to get used to it but now boss fights are way easier (minus some weird zoom ins that happen when you're locked on at times). I'm sure learning using the lock feature with a fast monster such as the Tigrex will help a lot.
Yup lol. I think I am at 60 hours by now. Should I be happy I have such mad touch screen skills to get me thus far?
No wonder you thought the controls were cramp XD it's really hard to pilot the camera and pull off sick dance moves at the same time.
Im was in the same boat too actually. I started with MHP2G iOS which had me wade through hell to get and played with it non-stop in a few days before i read there was a lock-on. That was the JP version so there was no way for me to discover that. LOL.
The collision detection in the Lao Shan Long fight is like absolutely retarded. I tried jumping onto the dragon's back and somehow I went right through the back, stomach and landed on the ground. Wtf? No I didn't land on the spikes, I actually aimed at the flat part of the back (that looks almost like a rider's seat).... and went right through it. And you only get one chance to jump onto its back.... well so much for using the dragon bomb.
Sounds like Plesioth has some competition First time I tried to jump on him I was WAAAY to early and ended up landing on his face XD I'm fairly sure you had a once-off thing though, as I haven't heard of this happening before. Also, there are two bridges if I remember correctly, one in the first fighting section and one in the third. He won't rear up on his legs unless there's someone up there before he reaches it though.
Actually, i don't like lock on too much... My positioning is ruined by that.. I don't use it at all even when fighting G rank monsters.. I use "the claw" style but with my right index finger as my "claw".. I bet EP understand what i mean *winkwink*
Completely. With the madcatz micro i am not playing with lockon anymore. Having a second analog stick is DIVINE.
I dont think you have to swing the camera around while swinging a sword at the same time More importantly, you need to be swinging the camera around WHILE MOVING. Not while attacking. While running around, the thumb should be on the camera, and when you find an opening your camera should already be at a good angle when you close in, freeing your thumb to be on the attack button. The problem back on the PSP was having to move while swinging the camera, so the claw was born, but it wasnt a comfy hand position at all, until your hand gets used to it. LOL
