Yup... That's pretty much one of the basics of the GS. Once you get access to Unsheathed Crit skill, you'll be wrecking monster faces. Well placed unsheathed strikes abusing Unsheathed Crit is coined GS sniping.
Admittedly ... I got hit unconscious twice... But, I beat khezu, on my first try!! 7 seconds left lol
Even ive been through this game over 3000 hours now (since the PSP days), i cant forget my first runs with Khezu too.
Daimyo Hermitaur owning me pretty bad. Cant upgrade my weapon though without dragonite ore which i havent encountered yet.
Hahaha! Great list! Difficulty settings. Just like in real life, huh?! How do I slide the difficulty of working down while making more money...?
BUT IN DARK SOULS...! Lol my favorite has gotta be "why do you flex after healing". I also do wonder about that..
Ah, the flexing... So many people, new to MH, have gotten butthurt over it... The point is *not* that you flex after you heal. The point is that healing *takes a significant amount of time* which is shown by adding a goofy unskippable flexing animation that takes many seconds to perform and leaves you vulnerable. It's a very simple risk vs reward concept. Also, apparently chugging a potion makes you feel AWESOME.
Even when Popeye was in such a hurry that he didn't have the time to actually eat his spinach and just inhaled it through his pipe instead, he still took a second to flex those guns. lol. (People still remember Popeye, right?)
Definitely. A great tactic is to deal enough damage to specific spots on the monster to cause it to stagger. This works great with tons of monsters just position yourself so when they turn around they get a charged GS to the face or hammer.
So far Ive taken down everything the game has thrown at me (In elder quests, guild quests is another story). But I would really like to upgrade my weapons and dont have access to dragonite ore yet. Any recommendations as to what my next armor set should be for a GS user? Using full kut ku armor currently. Also what skills should I save up for with my kitty komrade, was planning on training that healing flute. good/bad idea?
a) Is it possible to connect my ipad to my TV to play on TV? (other than apple TV, which for me has always lagged for some reason which in this game in particular is not forgivable) b) whats the best control to use with this game? My hands are starting to hurt
I was GS rushing to G-rank when i played MHFU on iOS, and i just went Battle Armor>Kut Ku Armor>Rathalos Armor then used that til i got to high rank and switched to Cean S, until G-rank where i switched to Rathalos X to Rajang X which is the best full set GS armor. For you i'd suggest going for Garuga set before you get access to Rathalos, and maybe Rathalos Soul (azure rathalos set) after rathalos. High Grade Earplugs are pretty useful when ranking up. The full low rank Garuga set with the Garuga Mask (this one is only available in high rank iirc) is a decent easier to obtain HGE armor but has very low armor stats. Garuga wings can be difficult to obtain though. Rathalos Soul (low, high or g-rank variations) are very useful sets for the HGE and RA+. Cean S is one of the most offensive oriented sets in the game, and if you are confident playing without earplugs or other defensive skills, is a highly recommended set to carry you to G-Rank. You may want to consider getting a full set Akantor set before hitting G-rank too. It has earplugs (not High Grade though), Sharpness+1 (best all-round skill for a blademaster IMO), and RA+. Not as purely offensive as Cean S, but still pretty strong, and can carry to G-Rank as well. After that, Rathalos X is the first armor set that gives you access to Unsheathed Crit skill. And as mentioned, the G-rank Rajang set is the best GS armor set you can get your hands on. It naturally has Fast Charge and Sharpness+1 active, and you can easily gem in Unsheathed Crit which rounds up the skills that make the best GS set.
IMO any of the XBox-layout controllers. I have the Madcatz Micro and it's fantastic to play MHFU with. Using a PS-layout controller is ok, but the left thumb is mostly resting on the analog stick in which the PS-layout is on a lower angle. I have played 99% of my games on PS controllers (never owned a microsoft console in the past) and 100% of my MHFU gaming on the PSP (pre-iOS) and the XBox layout of the Madcatz Micro was definitely an improvement.
