Am truly tempted to download this from the jpn store but could I grab some info first? How much space will this take up on my phone after installation and most importantly,without a grasp of Japanese but a fairly decent understanding of the game will this game still be playable?
Yes it is completely playable especially with the patch. And nope, haven't got in a room with a fellow TA'er yet. Just took down the white monoblos, need mats for the Kutku stave III to solo kill the Congalala 3 star guild quest.

Have downloaded and patched it and its safe to say this game is truly awesome! Every bit as good if not better than the psp version. Looking forward to trying out online multiplayer in the future!
Glad you're enjoying it Keitch, I felt the same way! Right now it's one of my favorite iOS games (though it gets frustrating at times). Let me know if you guys successfully get a TA / friend room to work.

Yeah, this. There's also a "Monster Hunter Freedom Unite" title screen in the app, as well as parts of an English translation. The thread contains every info we found, btw. Why don't people just read it?
At this point, wouldn't it be better to bring back this game's thread on the Upcoming Games forum when it comes to any news/predictions regarding a western release? I'm only saying this because, like you guys have said, it's a bit frustrating to see this thread bumped on a Wednesday and get my hopes up only to see that it's nothing of the kind. That's not fair neither to those of us who've been waiting for news, nor for the guys who've acquired the game legally and only want to share their experiences here. At least if things were kept separate (with talk of gameplay here and news/speculation on the Upcoming forum) it'd be clearer what one should expect to see in any new posts...
